Well... The military females in MGS are hot. This figure looks like a tranny that got a botched boob surgery, from a seedy hospital in the jungles of Saigon. But yeah, hopefully, Hot Toys is delaying the figure to make improvements. I really do want to get this figure but I just need some more convincing.

I kind of feel the same way.. I pre-ordered it just cuz it's a 1/6 MGS figure, but I'm starting to rethink this one. I hope the sculpt is redone, but those photos of the figure with Shinkawa is making me lose hope of a resculpt. I'm all ok with masculine, but the HS, and a uniboob looking like Schwarzenegger's chest is a little awkward to me.

Yeah I only know about 5 people around town, ever been to phoenix comics? and yeah it is fairly masculine but she a military chick, im ok with it, though ill take a more refined feminine sculpt hands down

I've been to phoenix.. pretty decent selection, and I like how the figures are still in their boxes. Another Dimension is a good one as well, if you haven't been there, but they display a lot of their stock

I'm currently working on a Boss sculpt for my own Fox Uniform (Bridge scene) custom, based on MGS3 screencaps and Charlotte Rampling photos. I'll try and take some pics today if people are interested, they might not come out so great cos the castilene is a bit shiny and difficult to see. The shininess is really annoying actually, it's making it hard to see the detail sculpting her upper lip.
With regard to the masculinity, I've found that Rampling does have a surprisingly wide jaw when seen straight on (See here https://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mc5sbiXgTE1qj80s9o1_500.jpg ) so I have taken that in a lot to match The Boss.

I'll start a new thread if I post my pics, don't want to derail the Official thread.

Yeah, it was a revelation when I first saw that photo.
At first I thought that I only needed to make a Rampling sculpt and stick a bandana on it but it turns out the back corners of her jaw looked really wrong for the Boss so at the stage my head is at now she's got Rampling's exact eyes and mouth with a thinner jaw and thinner sharper nose.

Thanks guys, I might be able to do some castings, I'm not sure yet. Partly why I sculpted her without the bandana was because I thought some people might like copies to replace their HT silver suit version head.

agreed.. but sometimes, after shipping + customs.. often times it's only a few dollars difference. I remember ordering the HT Superman last summer and I ended up saving $10-$15 after shipping and customs. If I didn't feel like waiting I don't think that's too big of a markup. However, unboxing is a big thing for me, so their tendency to open the items and display them makes me never buy from them!

I was there a few weeks ago, and the lady working there told me they sold 5 of the re-released batmobiles in 2 days.. 3 of which sold in the first 2 hours after receiving them!
