I'd need two cockpits! :panic:

No news ?

Maybe hot toys is re-thinking large models. The '66 batmobile appears to be cancelled, I'm not sure how the delorean is doing, the hulkbuster is still available, the 1/12 bat is still available, I imagine it sounds like a better idea when episode 8 is coming out.

Think about what the final cost after shipping and tax is. Final cost of having it in your house. Then what it cost to add figures to it. With JUST han and chewy alone your well over $1000. Yikes

I've been saving for this for months...just in case they do make it and if not I'll have some spare cash

I don't think they will ever confirm that they won't make it even if they don't intend to make it.

I am no longer optimistic that they'll make this cockpit or the 66 Batmobile. Them hot toys people don't give 2 hoots what we collectors want. It's only about what they feel like selling to us that will make them some good moola. i'm glad that 2 big Bat vehicles and the Delorean are basically still around cause they can't finish selling them off.

We are just shy of a year with pretty much not a single peep. But yeah it's still happening.:lol

I've never really seen the appeal of this. I like dioramas and I like vehicles but I find it hard to understand why a hybrid of the two would appeal. I'd prefer it if they made something reasonably manageable like a 1/6 snow speeder.

Still, I hope they make it for everyone who does want it.

A 1/6 snow-speeder would be just as big as the cockpit, but I would certainly welcome both if by some miracle those hot toys folks would throw us that bone. Doesn't seem very likely, though.

The one thing I don't like about the cockpit is that it obscures most of your figures from all angles and doesn't enhance them. It looks cool as all get out but every way you position it seems to be a compromise of one thing or another. Just my opinion and all that said I'd still love to see this get produced.

I'm always concerned about reading statements like this. Of course they "give a hoot" or they would have chosen a different line of business. The founders of Hot Toys, love sci-fi/fantasy, and they care about what you think because they are you. There are far easier consumer markets to break into if all you care about is cash (ones in which you don't have to read 600 pages of how bad your new head sculp sux every time you release one, for instance :lol).

Now what they won't do, however, is the same thing any business that wants to stay in business also won't do, and that's produce a piece that doesn't meet that sweet spot at which they can charge a price for a product that is low enough to generate volume enough to recover r&d and production costs, and at the same time high enough to turn a reasonable profit.

At the risk of letting my conservative credentials show, this idea that companies don't care about you if the are not able to meet your every whim or that they should produce something because people think they should whether it makes business sense or not creeps into too much of the pop culture these days. Employ more than 50 people, and there's a good chance you're an evil heartless corporation out to exploit the masses.

I know that's a huge leap from what you actually said, Armymedic, but sometimes I can't stop myself...:slap
