I just realized, I don't see his tags on in any of these shots, he still comes with them right?

Sure does! :D

Ok, good, I have the Toybiz ones but not as a first option :lol. I can't imagine Wolverine from the X-Men movies without his tags.

Just noticed Wolvie has spare wrist pegs too :rock Kudos for HT stepping up with this, their pegs are fragile and, while I'd rather a peg for every hand, spares is better than no extras at all.

All that truly matters is that you who are paying the money for the thing are happy with it. We all innevitably have at least one piece in our collection that a majority would say is overly flawed but we love it.

Not saying anyone specific, but I get a vibe at this site sometimes like people are almost afraid to like something and enjoy it for themself regardless of the popular opinion of the board. I can't imagine collecting that way, personally, I see something I like, I buy it, simple as that.

yeah i agree with this, but in this case i think the opposite is happening with me. i seem to be the only one that isn't convinced by the sculpt. everything else is perfect, just the sculpt isn't convincing me. just trying to understand why i can't see it when it seems so obvious to EVERYONE else. sometimes i think people are almost afraid to NOT like something, when the popular opinion is so positive. which is why criticism is dealt with obnoxiously or childishly by some of the members we have here.

@Dino - you're right, it really is an amazing Wolverine. the claws and body are great, but for me, this outfit has to be the best HT have ever made. the attention to detail and cratsmanship remind me of the goemon fig. But my focus is 1/6 movie replicas for a home theatre room. i've never collected comic figs really. so the likeness to actors is really important for me. if that makes sense.

i seem to be the only one missing something. it's a fantastic figure, can't wait to receive it. but i'm really struggling to see the likeness:

a see it as an amazing rendition of wolverine. but i seriously can't see much hugh jackman in there. i must be looking at it wrong.

I was with you there when I saw the first few photos but some angles look exactly like Hugh and some just don't at all. I need it in hand to make my final judgment.

this is true i think. e.g. those latest toy-world ones from chaserfan are much more convincing that some of the other ones i've seen. maybe it's an angle thing.

Really, I mean the comments since he started showing up in photos of in hand owners has been up beat, but I've found this portrait to be one of the most scrutinized and let-down inducing portraits from HT in quite some time, I felt like I've been in a minority all along for liking the portrait and seeing any Jackman in it, most people have felt it's a cool Wolverine portrait but not Jackman likeness at all.

Yikes.

7toys7 is parting them out on eBay; $112 shipped for the body alone. Not super-shocking, but still...

Get 'em while they're hot, kids.

Is a Kojun sculpt, what do you expect? Yulli sculpt got the best likeness but HT seems to play her down some how

This shot got a bit of jackman I think

They did such a good job getting the detail of this figure that I bet if I shoot it, it will heal itself.

:D

I don't agree with that. Kojun did the new Tony Stark head sculpt and the John Connor sculpt, both of which were more accurate than Yulli's version of Robert Downey Jr. and Christian Bale. I think they're both talented artists that do better with certain likenesses.

You should try that.

I agree. I am not impressed with the overall sculpt for Wolverine but the presentation (as a whole) is great. The sculptor missed the mark on this one IMO. However, you look at some of the newer releases and pre-order items and wow. I imagine the next Wolverine sculpt will be even better given their track record with RDJ and Bale.

Indeed, and while better than Yulli's effort, I still don't think Kojun's Bale is the best take on Bale in 1/6.

They do have their strong points, every sculptor has their highs and lows. I swear Yulli could do Sylvester Stallone or Heath Ledger in her sleep, Kojun's got RDJ and does a mean Jack Sparrow, but some of his Pacino work is lacking.

However, stylistically, they're both 2 great talents, and even if not dead on likenesses, their work is still impressive.

Are speaking of Andy Bergholtz's Bale sculpt?

Yeah, definitely. It's really up to HT to pick which artist is better suited to a particular actor/character. I wonder how they decide that.

I feel like we've reached a point where we demand 100% proficiency when it comes to likenesses. Many people have been spoiled by a handful of exemplary portraits that they're distracted from the reality that really, it is only a handful of figures that have an almost perfect likeness. It's become a double edged sword for HT.

I like Wolverine. I agree with Eighthsamurai about the Jackman likeness not being almost-perfect, I think because everything else on the figure just screams excellence that the thought of the likeness not being somewhere close to perfect doesn't bother me. And I think a lot of people here feel the same way and have accepted it.

That is Wolverine. It's the movie Wolverine we've been waiting for.

HT this body use new material on the head and good nice. I guess next figure will become better and better.
