Eh, same things. I really dont give a ____. I just know you're wrong about the mouth. It's nothing like the movie's. At all. If that doesnt take away from your love of it. Awesome! Good! But the fact you dont even believe it's true...man...

Well...you sure post enough caca for somone who doesn't give a ____. Also, my point about being obsessive is this.... I think that knowing too much about the creature with hundreds of photos and seeing the movie frame by frame only sets yourself up for disappointment with these figures. The sculptors will NEVER satisfy them all. NEVER.

Ha, you're the one posting bull____ about that damn mouth looking anything like the soruce material.

And I dont give a ____ about the difference between Fanboy and Fan. Not this topic. I'm ready to debate about this topic.

And no one goes frame by frame...? I've just seen this movie a ton of times throughout my days, and I know what the Alien's mouth looks like. It's the most iconic mouth in the history of cinema.

How could they NOT get it right? You keep acting like we (the mouth people) are unjustifyed. Um...its the single most important feature of the Alien. I dont know why I have to stress this. It's not a small mundane detail. It's not "He has 3 oxen toes, not 4!" I mean good lord man. Even people who LOVED the figure admited the mouth is off.

Admit that and this debate can end. Because that's my only issue at the moment. You keep acting like nothing is wrong, and we people, who feel disappointed, are wrong. And you've said that too. Which just annoys me.

ANOTHER post stating the SAME thing...really? Is all this pissin' and moanin' by you going to change anything? NO. I stated my opinion...you don't like it? Oh well.
The HT's ALIEN is out. Buy it, or don't buy it. I really don't care. I have it and like it. It's right next to my NECA.

EDIT: I just saw your last post....thank God! :D

Just seen Figuermaster Les' mod. Grud on a greenie AMAZING! :google

Les, how easy was it to change the tongue?

Ripley rocks by the way.

Les, that Ripley is stunning! That could be my new Grail. I know you said no to making more of her, but damn...

Nice, just downright nice work.

I'm gonna go ahead and say it...

Hi, my name is Sabres21768 and I'm an obsessive fanboy for ALIEN.
I've seen the movie more than a hundred times.
And yes...I've done the "frame by frame" thing several times while watching the film.

There, it's all out in the open. I feel better. :D

Is the HT Alien accurate...Nope.

Does this obsessive fanboy like it...Yep.

And believe me fellas...probably more than anyone here...I'm hardest to please when it comes to Giger's Alien.

Even after all my ranting and disappointment, I've just accepted it for what it is...a cool looking Alien(ish) figure.

Congratulations, the first step is acceptance :rotfl

Les's collection is fantastic. If I had those customs I'd be more inclined to buy this alien for completists sake. Alas I don't and I don't feel the need to increase my collection of innaccurate HT aliens. The 3 I have is enough.

If this figure had been made with a view to the greatest accuracy possible I have no doubt everyone participating in this thread would have bought it..so I don't understand why HT went with a compromised interpretation thereby reducing the amount of buyers. Unless they genuinely don't know that this doesn't look like the creature in the film, simply didn't have the eye for it or the ability to see where they were going wrong. Is that possible? I dunno. In any case they saved me some money here. Their Terminator lines is where its at, and I can't wait to see their Reeve Superman.

Yes I did, Raymond. I think it will wipe off if coarsely treated, but I don't plan to. I bet it would though. Get a Krylon silver leafing pen at Walmart. Works wonders on it. Try washing a bit of watered down black into the cracks of the teeth first, so you get rid of that "barbecue sauce" before choming the teeth.
Nails and toes work great also.

Off to Walmart I go! Thanks for the great tips Les. :D

Now, hopefully we all can enjoy what HT's has given us..........

Hopefully.

Just some 2 cents here to clarify also that my griping was due to QC issues only and not the actual sculpt...

I know, obviously, the suit used in the movie's filming and the production sketches really exist but Im talking about the overall look at the alien, I mean you barely see it in the movie and wenever you do it's very dark. If you look at it from that standpoint, the movie and what we see on film is the ultimate 'bible' so to speak, then it really does not matter because it leaves a lot up to interpretation i guess.

other than some subtle slope changes and the thickness of the jaw, no one has given a clear and accurate visual example of how the sculpt "doesn't look like the creature in the film". At least that ive seen. Don't say the chrome teeth, that's a paint issue not a sculpt issue.

Im not claiming to be an expert either but that does not mean that I have not been a fan of the movie or the creature for most of my life.

my beefs are with toyish looking mouth leavers and the ugly seam along the dome. And breaking wrist pegs and/or tearing rubber. Other than that it's brilliant!

It bears a generic resemblance - yes its obviously an alien - but this presumably final Alien figure from HT (at least till the new film) should have striven to be more than a generic resemblance.

I'm sure others have provided comparison pics somewhere in the thread to illustrate their points - I'm not going to because I'm too lazy, I'm not going to search for these posts myself for the same reason - I'm also not even as '____' as those people to know exactly what is wrong in the nitty-gritty details - however I know that those people are right. Even as someone who doesn't know the Alien inside-out I can see that this figure is only a glancing resemblance.

I know your point that the creature is hidden in darkness and shadow for most of its screentime - that excuses the bodily 'interpretations' but it doesn't excuse the facial 'interpretations' because the face is the one part that is consistently shown in extreme close-up! I'm no sculptor, I'm not saying I coulda done it better but I'm also not going to buy just anything. I look at this figure, its good from the neck down, but it fails in the most important areas just like the other HT aliens and I've had enough of that. I've said that quite a few times in this thread at this point, I'm only repeating it now for the sake of having something to do

I know it's been done before. And if you've followed this thread from the beginning, you'd know that.

There is PLENTY of reference material out there that Hot Toys could have used to make it as accurate as possible.

I'm doing this ONLY to prove to you that there are clear pics out there and we have provided them before to show the glaring differences.

Were all the the suits used in the movie exactly the same? From those pictures it seems there were different looking suits used.

There was 1 hero suit that Bolaji wore and a couple of stunt suits.

Plus there was an SFX head for the killing head shots.

What about the heads? I ask because some have the cording around the dome edge and some don't. Could this be why it's hard to nail down one sculpt? Because of variations in the different suits and heads.
