You wont be dissapointed. I was amazed by the weight and size of the figure. Innacuracies aside, it is a pretty cool figure.

Mines arrived! Big props to Leo at Goodshipped. Initial impressions are that it needs to warm up before any attempts at posing. He's also a little smaller than I expected, a good deal shorter than the AVP version. He looks out of scale compared with Dallas. Hmmmmm.......

Yeah, I'm surprised too. He's about 2 1/2 inches shorter than the AVP version. The AVP seems bigger overall. He's about an inch and a half to two inches taller than Dallas. Though the bulk on Dallas' suit makes him seem smaller I guess. The rubber used on the body etc. is differant to the AVP version as well.

Whoops! Scrub that. After futzing withthe figure, I finally managed to get the legs straight. So he's comparable to the AVP in height (just a smidge shorter). D'oh!

This is one entertaining thread to keep up with. I've had my Hot Toys Alien since the first of the year, and he is pretty awesome to me. I've really been enjoying all the images supplied in this thread from everyone, from source material to great photos of custom statues and the like. That is definitely what keeps me coming back to the thread, but unfortunately it has been hard to wade through all the diatribes and bickering back and forth. Sometimes there have been pages which I've felt like skipping over entirely, but did not want to miss any pertinent information or images.
All in all, great read, with awesome input from many of you. You know who you are, and I thank you.
I only hope HT will bring us at the very least a Lambert in blue suit and Ripley in "Lucky Star."

Decided to take a bit of my lunch hour to pick up the ALIEN.
Gotta say I really dig this figure... in hand the inaccuracies really don't seem as stark as seeing them in 2D images. I didn't see any QC issues on mine either (tail is in and clean, and all joints seem to work). The wrist pegs are incredibly slim though, I can see how they could get broken easily.
I do wish he had a stand coming out of the base as I'm a bit concerned about him toppling over with that giant noggin. And his height seemed good to me, I stuck him next to Kane and he looked a good 1-1 1/2" taller.
So overall he seems like a great figure and one I'm glad to finally have in my collection.
I do have a couple of quick questions about his articulation from those that have had him for a while. Is the head able to do anything besides tilt forward and backward? I wasn't able to get any side to side or tilt out of it. Also, is there any articulation in the mid-bicep; it didn't seem like he was able to rotate his forearms inward like some of the previous rubber bodies.

Hey Galactic boy. There's movement of side to side on the head. You just have to be foreceful but careful. Not sure on the biceps though. I don't think there's any movement. I can't get any on mine anyhow.

Yeah, I didn't have any problem with the head movement.
It seems like it's on a ball joint, so it should have a full range of motion.

Quick fix number two for those that want to try it.
Adding a HT figure holder neck/tongs to the ALIEN base
I dremeled out the inner part of the low round bar on the back of the base, and flattened out a spot below that, on the base itself, then dremeled out a hole for the neck insert to fit down into.
The lower round bar is solid plastic, so it takes a few minutes of dremeling, but the base is hollow, so it's easier.
Then just superglued the neck in place. Used plenty of superglue gel and sprayed it with fix to really secure it in.
Then used tongs from a longer Sideshow base with that small amount of bend in it to hold the Alien right under the ribs and out of sight. Works and is pretty easy to do, is pretty well concealed and the figure won't fall.
Hope this helps some of you guys.

Here is quick fix number three for everyone,
My recipe for an ALIEN Ripley Custom. Some parts may have to be fabricated (patches etc)
Body- 21st Century Matilda Assassin
Head- Sideshow Art S. Buck, female lower lip trimmed, dark brown mohair curls applied in patterns on painted head.
Inner T- thin, sleeveless T (hard to see)
Panties- Not sure what brand, but right shape, as in thong like.
Green T- I think it was actually from the old Hasbro? Colonial Marine figure that came with an Alien. Had to remove the sleeves due to tightness in the jumpsuit. Recommend a tank T for a figure.
White shirt- generic white button up. Chose for the collar. Painted grey-pink on trim. Added printed Nostromo insignia on left breast. Added white holder loops on left breast. Hard to see both of those, so add at your own descretion.
Watch- not sure brand. Black digital watch with reasonably wide band.
Jumpsuit- GI Joe Female Helicopter pilot suit. Removed chest Velcro. Will replace zipper pull eventually.
Socks- should be white. Note in scene where she props up at the computer and tries to interpret the alien message once the crew deploys to the Derelict. Mine are olive drab. Might change eventually.
Shoes- mine are from the Character Options 10th Doctor figure. There are some close ones available at Cotswold. See here: https://www.gijoeelite.com/f_itemPart.asp?strPart=GIZC-026
That's it. Other than paintup and hair apps, it is not too hard. Just took me three years plus to finish! LOL!

Some folks have asked me how I changed out the tongue from the MacFarlane Alien. It wasn't as easy as that. It was scary. I extended then popped off the front of the HT Alien tongue, which has a seam and is a seperate piece, and retracted it and estimated the length needed from the removed Mac tongue. It took a couple of cuts to get it to end up where the inner mouth was where I wanted it to be, so don't cut it too short first time. Make small adjustments as you fit it.
Then, I dremeled, and that was SCARY, drilled into the flat ends of the parts of the tongues so a thin metal rod could go into each, locking them better together. THAT was hard to do, because one slip, and bye bye mouth details! So, I recommend EXTREME CAUTION if you attempt it, and I do not take responsibility if you try it. It's your call.
But, it does work. Just takes a few minutes. After sizing it up properly, some superglue in the holes, metal rod in one, and slide the other half in place. Spray with fix to set. Wait, touch up with paint while extended. Work only when extended also. Be careful not to jiggle it too much or it snaps back in.
Again, scary work, but worth it if you want the tongue better.
Note: I also cut the tongue teeth parts off, and angled them inward more also. More closed than open. Helps it fit inside better and you can see the inner teeth tnrough the outer ones better, looking more correct.
Again, good luck! It can be done, just be careful.
