If you want the Holy Grail screen accurate Alien then I think you will never get it.

Heres a pic of a show I did, cant think of the date, maybe early 90's but i used to also sell a Alien crouching on like a Alien bone pedastal, I would love to have that again, anyone know what it is, I only had a limited few! Its behind Travis!!!

By the way, has anyone been tempted to have a peek under the dome of their HT Alien yet? I'm curious to see how the skull turned out.

No, because I don't like it. I'm envious of those who do, but I don't. Are you going to say it looks better in hand? That may well be true.

Anyway, it's not just me saying it doesn't look right. Details aside, it just doesn't have the right overall look. Serious question - in writing your review, did you cross reference it against the DVD?

I challenge anyone to find me a shot in the movie where the Alien looked like this:

Whereas I can point to several actual film stills that do look like The Medicom.

None of which is meant to say that people shouldn't enjoy this figure. You pays your money, you takes your choice. I could even argue that it's a cool figure, despite the glaring inaccuracies. But some people are in full on denial about those inaccuracies. We're talking fact here, like it or not.

I just wondered if you could live with the problems you see, or if you decided you couldn't. I actually admire your resolve more for sticking to your guns and deciding it's not for you.

And yeah, I'm sad enough to have freeze framed a few moments on the DVD and I can see where you are coming from in your comment, but for me the pose you showed (although well shot) can't represent something you see in the move. You need moody lighting, strong shadows and a dark background. At the moment I have mine on a bookshelf, half in shadow, and I can say hand on heart I am very, very happy with him. He's not perfect, but it's the best 1/6th (proper 1/6th) ALIEN out there.

As for the kit you mentioned, it was simply titled "Alien On Pedestal" and was produced by REAL of Japan.

Cool piece, I think it would look better in a Sideshow dio style pose though, somehow it seems like he's unstably perched up there and could fall off while it's hissing at it's prey.

Yeah, I see what you're saying.

But, I refer back to Brett's death scene in ALIEN or Dietrich's death in ALIENS.

In ALIEN, the creature was leaning out almost horizontally from the landing gear to snag Brett. And the Alien came out almost completely horizontally, from the wall, to snag Dietrich.

Super grippy feet!

No, but that would be a DAMN COOL piece.

There are a couple of plaques that are a bit like what you mention.
Although they only feature one Alien warrior in them.

The first is the plaque from Billiken.
The second is the plaque from Psycho Monsterz.

Those are nice, but yeah, I'm talking like a hive diorama, or even the big pile of crawling Aliens in the ceiling, seems like most of the time the Aliens are made by themselves, you don't see much of the hive structure being represented.
