Gorgeous pics, dedguy, maybe the best I've seen. Wonderful use of light. Congrats. :clap

Any thoughts on this piece now that you have it in hand?

More pics tomorrow, but I had to take a few because I was happy to find that not only does it easily assume this pose but it's also pretty stable in this pose since the tail acts kinda like a third leg.

All taken in super low light lit with a bunch of led keychain lights.

I honestly love it. It's a great figure and if I didn't have the technology to carefully scrutinize film stills I simply wouldn't be able to see any inaccuracies and even still the inaccuracies are such a small part of the whole even knowing they're there on something of this scale they're not noticeable to me.

The only thing I wish was that the lips could close. That's the single thing I would change if I could change anything. Screw the inaccuracies, I want an alien that can close it's mouth.

Yep, that would be very cool.

You've probably seen it but here is a pic of my alien pile from Fewture Models (with additions/mods). Several years ago, I made my own Alien hive diorama as seen in the pictures. The aliens might be hard to seen in my hive, but there are quite a few there.

...

BTW
Sideshow is in the process of replacing my Hot Toys Big Chap that arrived damaged last week.

Those are nice, but yeah, I'm talking like a hive diorama, or even the big pile of crawling Aliens in the ceiling, seems like most of the time the Aliens are made by themselves, you don't see much of the hive structure being represented.

I was inspired by the mythology indicating the alien species inherited genetic characteristics from the host species. The wings are from a Cthulhu model kit. I built it in the mid-90s. :bat

Great stuff dude. LOVE the hive.

We need BIG close up pics of it.
It's hard to see the details in the small shots.

The mouth simply doesn't bother me. There's more glaring inaccuracies if you ask me and those don't bother me in the least either. It has inaccuracies but on the scale of "does it evoke the alien in the film" that some people keep saying it doesn't... for me... it really does.

Now will I modify mine at all? Probably.

Yeah but if you knew anything about me you'd know I modify everything whether it needs it or not. In this case I would say it doesn't need it but I got into this as a hobby not as a collector. I spent a good two days making modifications to my Predator no one can even tell I did.
