I called 'em and asked about that pic. It seems to be the right figure with the wrong picture. No VCD would ever be originally priced at $140-something. Even on sale, $135 sounds insane.

I can confirm that it is the Big Chap figure on there site as I ordered one a couple of weeks ago and have it in hand.

I searched for krylon chrome pens on ebay and found nothing. Anyone have a link to a web store that sells them?

Also is the krylon chrome pen the same as the krylon chrome leaf pen? What is the prod # 903?

EDIT: I think there's only one kind of krylon chrome pen.:monkey1

I picked up a liquid silver pen today. It's not a Krylon but I hope it has the same effect. And I'm sure it's simple, but I was wondering how you guys who did the mod glued the mouth together. There's way too many posts to go back and find it myself.

I hope to take pics tomorrow.

Yes, Galactiboy is correct on the glueing. It only takes a very small drop. I didn't even glue both sides, I just glued one side, one tooth actually.

You have to work the jaw a little when you press the mouth closed to get the teeth to line up. Once you find the sweet spot, just spot a small dab of glue and press the mouth closed in that sweet spot and hold a few seconds until the glue dries. It doesn't take much to hold the mouth shut.

Just test closing the mouth first. It's easy, you'll see. And glue in a place where, for any reason, you can cut the glue line to free the mouth back open if you even want to. Also, the front teeth won't touch completely -- its just how the back teeth line up. My pics are on page 307-310 if you want ref.

Yep, I was only able to find a silver leaf pen. But it goes on very smoothly and can have a chrome-like look especially on small areas.

Okay, people may want to hate it for its inaccuracies, but they're missing out on a beautiful figure. I'm so happy to have this in my collection.

A few shots with very little tweaking-

Thanks Batty... like the Giger Artwork in b.g. :D

For me, I was on the fence for months, even chimed in on the FALIEN bashing, but in the final analysis, it came down to "I'd rather have it than not" (at a reasonable price) -- that and almost everyone who received it said they liked it in hand.

it's not just the inaccuracy, it's that it should've been so much better and isn't.
i've owned just about every HT alien so far and they keep getting worse.
so, i'm putting my foot down and refusing to buy this one because i don't want to reward HT for their "artistic license".

I have to say after sitting with him on the Aliens shelf since I got him I've decided I'm just keeping the Big Chap and axing the rest of them.

I think in general I'll just be sticking to Alien and Aliens, Predator 1 and 3 and Terminator 1 and 2 figures. While I visually like the new stuff... I don't think I have enough connection to have them displayed in my collection

I can understand that, but to me this is worth having.

Cool pics... I like your choice of backdrop :duff

Thanks! I've had that Giger print for over 20 years. :horror

I really want to take more pics, but it's so gray out right now. And I'd rather not use a flash.

I'm going to try the silver pen and glue the teeth together. I'll probably take more pics after that.

They're on ebay too, like $6 shipped.

Like the first pose in the second set Batty, that's very close to how I'll pose mine. And that second shot is Giger-esque. GIGER-ESQUE -- that's the word we need more of now.:lol

:lol yea I think I was the first one that brought up that they were $6 shipped. Just wondering if it's cheaper at Michaels that's all. a $6 dollar pen is an expensive pen. :D
