hmmm. actually, those new pics make the alien look better.
his face is still messed up, but overall, imo it's a pretty cool piece. BUT i will have to see this figure in person before i decide whether to get him. i trust my own eyes and own judgement above everything else (forum pics, "expert" opinions, etc)...

Yeah, actually seeing the figure in-person always makes a BIG difference. Photos are photos ...
I saw the figure (well the proto) on display at Toy Hunters in Hong Kong. It may not be acurate when it comes to the face, but it does look great overall. While the Medicom may be true to the original design, the HT figure looks like a better piece IMO. Personally I'm glad I waited for HT's and didn't get the Medicom.

the revoltech is a definite buy for me. you can tell the level of technical expertise that went into the design is insane.
i don't have any revoltech figures now so i don't know how they match up scale-wise to anything, but i can't pass it up.
you are terrible at sarcasm and you think you are much more clever than you actually are. and complaining about the figure is totally relevant to the topic. so, it is, in fact, about people disliking the figure. it's how message boards work. you are just digging yourself into a hole. get a grip.???? Pish-tosh ...

it looks like the A3 Dog mouth. which means it probably has the same inner jaw mechanism.
which means they need to stop ????ing doing that and focus on sculpting instead of making toys with action features.
i'm definitely looking forward to seeing what ssc can do with it. but, i get burnt out on statues pretty easily.But you should all wait for the Sideshow Big Chap Maquette, coming eventually.Who buy 12'' anyway..

I'll probably get the SS one....but my prefrence is 12". Its cheaper, and I like to pick my poses, thankyouverymuch.

I looked at some of these pics at the end for a while, and for the first time I could appreciate this thing for what it is. Yes, we've seen many versions of this by now, NECA ranking very highly, and, yes, we have come to expect nothing but total mind blowing detail from Hot Toys.
Now throw away preconceived ideas about what this thing should have been, and just realize what you are looking at. Take yourself back to when you fell in love with the movie. Are you there? Now try to imagine how awesome this piece would have been back then. This would have been the greatest toy of all time IMO, and the Kenner one already held that position until McFarlane started changing the demographic for toys.
Still, it's bit behind the game now, and Sideshow is still going to kick its ass. I'm just sayin'...
