I wonder if they did a more expressive Connor sculpt and this was the only one Bale and company would sign off on, since we've learned from the Iron Man BD that they try sculpts and the choice by the licenses holders and all isn't always the choice HT or fans would like.

I guess after the debacle of Bale screaming at ppl on set maybe they really did not want to remind ppl of that :lol

I was reliably told that they have submitted many sculpts with more extreme expressions, but they allways get turned down, it seems the vanity of our thespian community knows no bounds, and their agents have no vision... or sense of humour.

DAMN any of the sculpts that get turned down should go underground so we can still pick them up for even cheaper

I would have possibly bought him if the bloody scars had looked more realistic, but they looked so cookie-cutter and drawn-on that I had to pass. It was easy enough to spend a few bucks getting the parts I wanted (the extra hands, hydrobot). I'm just not bothering to buy a second version of a character without a new headsculpt. (plus, version 1's costume seems cooler, I like the leather jacket.)

To be fair to Mr Bale I don't know if John Connor is one of the figures that ever got submitted or turned down, all I do know is that I've been told that over the last few years pretty much every sculpt put forward displaying what would be considered 'some emotion' has been rejected in favour of a relatively neutral expression.

Arrghh! Came home to find Connor's grenade launcher lying at his feet instead of hanging off the strap.

Can anybody post a good pic on how the strap is attached to the gun so I can fix it?

Thanks!

yes it is...and I gotta say I agree with him.

At first glance, this figure may look like a half-hearted rehash...but it most definately is NOT.

Seeing blown-up close-ups of the head don't do the great paint apps justice...he really is looking aptly battle-worn...and the uniform and gear are all perfectly rendered. Add to that the cool display base (something I wish EVERY figure featured) and that hydrobot ( a real work of art in itself) and this is a great encore for a character that Hot Toys had really done justice to.

The V1 Connor was my figure of the year last year...and I'm glad to add the V2 to the collection...

Yeah, the likeness is dead on and this figure is packed with accessories. The stand and Hydro are bonuses and to me more than worth the extra 50 bucks (not to mention the uber cool PDA). Right now, JC is at the center of my collection A) because he is that cool and B) because I am running out of room. Excellent standalone figure.

The ex of this is still available at sideshow:confused:

Is there not a huge demand for this fig:confused:

Probably just not huge demand for the PDA. Seems like Sideshow's usually the more expensive shop to go through for people so unless they really want the exclusives, they tend to go elsewhere.

I got the best accessories from this piece loose from T.A. and decked out my "regular" John Connor. I like the original a lot better.
