MJ and Leonidas both have there legs a little bent , Leonidas's even coming off the stand a little , that plus the heeled boots makes Arnold that bit taller. I don't think its an issue.

Now I'm actually worried about how short Leonidas looks. Hope it's just the pose. The MJ figure is on the slim True type, right with no extenders?

Out of all the figures HT could have displayed next to the T800 at this toy show, it had to be these two. Unknown quantity in terms of height. :lol

I think Henriksen would have put on a bad-ass performance, but nothing nearly as influential as what Arnold did. The menace he brought due to his size was really important. Plus, his lack of acting range was actually a good thing for that role.

That's about the nicest thing you can say about his acting. :monkey5

But seriously, he wasn't great but I don't think his acting was that bad. I can just say typecast. The figure looks awesome btw height withstanding.

Vocally, yes but that's handicapped by his accent too. Physically you couldn't be more off the mark. I couldn't buy Henriksen as a badass unstoppable killing machine. Maybe a rabid psychopath hyped up on crack, but not an emotionless Terminator. Schwarzenegger owned that role like no other person in Hollywood could've done.

There's definitely something even about Arnie's face that just really pulls of that robotic sort of expression, from the neck down, other strong men could do the same as Arnold, but something about his face just really works for being a lifeless, determined robot on the warpath.

I disagree. The timing in his physical acting really sold it. I equate that more to his time spent bodybuilding and the study of ballet and other dance forms. Much the same way cha cha helped Bruce with Kung Fu. From the strut, to ripping out hearts, to drawing pistols, etc., it could easily have wound up looking hokey and awkward, but from his very first scene, viewers were sold and remained that way for the rest of the film.

I always liked the original infiltrator idea which is what Henriksen was originally cast as. This i why I want the Marcus Wright figure.

I think Henriksen as the Terminator would've been very interesting.

Henriksen was a badass unstoppable killing machine in Near Dark and did a good job. And he wasn't hyped up on crack, either. Like I said, I think the imposing size was a good thing, and is the largest part of why Arnold was a better choice for this role. But Terminator would have still worked with a smaller guy (just not as well). Like a previous poster said, look at the T-1000. Henriksen is a far better actor than Arnold, and I'm sure could have been intimidating in the role. Maybe not physically, but he could give those vibes for sure.

Oh I'm not saying his whole physicallity didn't sell it, I was just saying that something about Arnold's face, which no one without surgery can match, was a big factor in selling his character as a mindless robot beneath. The performance with his body can be copied, but the structure of his face, his cheekbones, the way his lips look, the eyes, the man just looks something non-human with that cold look on his face.

Eh, After Dark is a mixed bag. Personally, I hated it and despite owning it, can't bring myself to sit through an entire viewing - and I've tried on several occasions. Also, maybe it's just me, but I never thought the T-1000 was scary. Not even as a kid. Much in the same vein I never thought any of the Universal Soldier movies or Cyborg movies were scary either. Both are examples of having both muscular actors and thin actors in killing roles but none, IMO, were pulled off successfully.

Not really, not with any real success. Kickinger tried to match Arnold's performance for T:S and none of us really bought him as the T-800.

I was more referring to the idea of say Lou Ferrigno being cast all along and had he done motions like Arnold, it would have have the same effect, someone trying to exactly mirror the way Arnie's body looks doing those motions will never look the same because it's two different bodies, no matter how similar, it won't look the same.
