No, apprently it'll make running noises even without driving it, I have a friend with one that told me. I threw out the remote and tore out the antenna as soon as I got mine, I never planned on it as anything but a T2 prop.

yeah I put the bats in just for fun and the controller pays these sounds and its very loud too! But yeah antenna had to go immediately :p
I wonder how this Arnie with this Fatboy would look in a video playback of possibly some of the more applicable scenes but I would not dare do that and put him at risk :p

Same here. When I was younger, I was more into Star Wars because of the fun aspects of it that speaks to younger audiences, as I've grown up, I've come to appreciate other things more, but for a long time, Star Wars was really the only thing out there to buy and collect, so my displays weren't a fair representation of my interestings, that's changing now. If I could have 100s of figures for various things from Rambo or Terminator and other films that mean as much or more to me than Star Wars, I gladly would. I'd say up until the past 4 years maybe, the majority of my collection was Star Wars, but thanks to Hot Toys and Sideshow, I've been able to expand on things like Rambo and Terminator that I enjoy more.

I still collect the 3 3/4" Star Wars line and it does probably make up the bulk of my collection despite 3 years of fairly intensive Hot Toys purchases. Just the other day I preordered the latest figures from the new 'vintage' assortment, the new snowspeeder and AT-AT. The cloud car was already sold out but I'm sure I'll still be able to get it. Never ventured into 1/6th with Star Wars, woulda just been too much and I prefer to set up full recreations of star wars scenes rather than taking any one figure by its own merits...the latter is the domain of 1/6th.

Terminator made me branch out onto McFarlane 7" figures back in 2001 I think and that in turn fuels my desire for all the current neca figures. McFarlanes ones were a massive step-up from the Kenner ones but still a bit lacking. I'm all for preserving the aesthetics of the sculpt but some useful articulation woulda been nice. Thankfully neca did a great job at both. So finally Terminator (T2 anyway) is done justice at 7" and now at 1/6th with HT. My only regret is that I'm now too old to actually play with them (as in re-enact the battle scenarios) like I used to with those crappy Kenner figures that barely resembled what they were supposed to be.

In my own way, I still re-enact, but with photos instead of laying on the floor holding up a T-800 pointing a gun at T-1000 saying hasta la vista :lol.

Well, HT had to fail somewhere with this figure, and it's those roses. They look terrible lol.

Dunno if you saw it but I did some photo re-enactments of the mall scene and steel mill with the 12" neca figs and Sideshow T-1000 in one of the neca threads a while back, just with the phone camera. They weren't bad at all. I think that other guy trumped them with his Hot Toys pics though. :pfft:

Well the key is to have fun, if you're trying to be a photographer, then getting competitive can be a healthy thing but if you're just enjoying your collectibles, who cares if someone else has done it, if you have fun doing it that's what counts, and everyone's going to have a different style anyway. I've been planning to do like that one user did mirroring film shots and I still plan to, it's my way of enjoying these things and my style of shooting those same things will be different, if my shots would look exactly like theirs I might not do it, but it'll be the same scenrios but through my eyes.

I didn't catch your photos though, after the 2nd wave of T-800s shipped I stopped following the NECA outside of the T-1000 stuff, I don't plan to get the 12" FB from them unless we get to Comic Con and still no sign from HT, then I might get it and if HT does it, I'll live with the expense but right now I'm holding out.

damn the sculpting of the t-800's hair is so awesome, that profile shot really shows it off. Can't wait though, totally buying this guy on Friday once I get paid. It's funny though, after seeing shots of him on a bike, I gotta pick one up now....wasn't even really a thought until now:cuckoo:

and then of course, once we get a t-1000, we'll all want police bikes :)

I did indeed have fun. Really looking forward to seeing your shots of the HT. Your Predator and T4 ones still come to mind, but T2 just has that extra level of excitement for me and you've got a great eye for particular frames from the films to be captured with the figures.

Yeah as I said in a previous post I reckon there'll be a bigger gap in terms of quality between the HT BD version and the neca BD version than there even is between the HT clean version and the neca Pescadero. I love the neca BD one but it does have that cartoony eye and, because of the parts recycling, a permanently erect stance which just isn't accurate to the scenes where he had that level of damage. Looking forward to putting the HT one hopefully in a more stooped leaning pose. Imagine the detail of the wrecked endo-arm and the torn sleeve of the jacket. I just can't see HT failing on that one.

The wait is killing me, this is going to be one of the most exciting figures to receive.

There is nothing during the past 4 years that I can think of that would top this. And I don't even have it yet. :wink1:

I hear that. This is the most bored I've been in ages. The absolute longest time I've gone without receiving a new figure in the post, but probably one of the most treasured HT figure I will ever get to eventually resolve this boredom. End of may gawdammit :gah:

This is my exact case too. However I don't get the itch all that much waiting too long in between purchases anymore. Good for me I guess but unfortunately when you've got only one DAMN figure on order each day feels like a month. :gah:

In terms of emotional satisfaction from a collectible, this is definitely one of the coolest things I've gotten over the past few years too, but there's been a lot to do that, even other T2 stuff, like the Legendary bust, when I had that on my desk at work I'd often take a break and turn the button on and off watching the eye go out like when T-1000 stabs him through and "kills" him.
