The fact that this thing just started to sell out is a mystery. The only reason I can think of why it hadn't sold out sooner is maybe HT's MASS produced this one. I'd say 3-4 times the amount of Wolverine.

Even Wolverine wasn't sold out until he arrived in hand.

Between DX figures, QC issues and some people just waiting to see the final product, it's not surprising to see things not sell out until they start getting in hand and people know what they're getting. Buying Hot Toys figures over the past year has become filled with more paranoia and skepticism than in the past when people would just instantly jump on buying something with no hesitation.

I doubt it, this should have a sizeable production run, and with future HT Terminator franchise releases some people will will look to off-load this to upgrade. Unless your a hoarder like me and refuse to sell anything:lol

Just saying, this figure was sold out a good 2 - 3 weeks ago before it started shipping. Might have been a bit longer. I just remembered looking to see one time about 3 weeks ago or so and noticed it had sold out and still wasn't out yet. As I was looking up Mech Test Tony and it too is sold out, while I was doing that I looked up War Machine and it too is sold out to pre-orders.

Most of these are all on wait lists now.

I'm guilty of that!

I am standing him next to the Sideshow figure in my video, and they are the same height (Actually the Sideshow looks a bit bigger, but the Hot Toys is not standing as upright)

Terminator and Iron Man are popular franchises, especially HT figures from them.

Stuff like Prince of Persia and Clash of Titans you'll probably see stick around for awhile, but popular licenses tend to be hard to find fairly quickly.

Between prototype photos and feelings towards the movie, a lot of folks sat on Wolverine but once they saw how nice he turned out, many changed their mines and he was selling out within a few weeks of release, he can still be found in a few places but he's not too available as he was before.

Once they're gone, they're gone. Thats when it starts. I've seen it many times ................ V1 Joker and V1 TDK Bats being the obvious exception. I'm not talking about "every" HT's figure, just the popular ones.

In regards to the TDK line, weren't those distributed through DC direct? I would assume that they bought a lot of them especially with all of the comic book stores. With some of the other lines like Blade II and Wolverine they didn't have the big buy in the beginning and so they are gone. T2 Arnie is an iconic figure and so I would assume that is the reason he is out. But I also don't think that this will be a limited run. I can see HT putting together another wave of the same figure. After all they want to make money.

I doubt there will be another wave.
UK sellers like Play and Forbidden Planet are the last to get them in, and they are scheduled for next month

And the ones done well, v1 Joker and v1 TDK Batman had a lot of room for improvement. While every HT figure could be better than it is, for the most part, they do come out good enough that there won't be as much of a felt need for an updated one like Joker and Batman, those 2 had very vocal pleas for better figures, people will see room to better T-800, but they'll also be content enough with him as is.

Back to our well known and loved "no-longer-a-terminator, if you don´t mind.^^
You guys tried a few poses?
I managed to get the galeria rosebox shotgun reveal scene and the one where he´s on surveillance mode.
Little tricky but it works actually. I´ll be posting pics later here and with my updated setup. Did even manage to get a wire into the jackets collar for fitting it more tightly around his neck.
I just love this guy. it´s my best figure and it´s so astounding how lifelike HT pulled him off.
:)
Anyone too on for a little showoff?!

I am sure they are happy not to go back to Arnie for six months or so, and the next figure on there T2 list will be the T-1000.
Plus they have all these other licences they have taken on to juggle with

Doubtful. We may very sell see the next T-800 at SDCC with T-1000 and the Sarah's.

I'm thinking, either we get T-800 and T-1000 at SDCC, they'd have a solid presence in the booth, especially as the next T-800 should be more armed than the first one, and BD would go with the SDCC Sarah and a T-1000, that or we'll see the T2 figures continue to be peppered between the hot, fresh releases like Iron Man 2.

I would be VERY surprised to see anything T1 before T2's done, the rights alone favor milking T2 for all it's worth before moving onto the trickier film, plus, they can be developing T1 now and dealing with all that while they have T2 figures to sell.
