I just found something interesting on FB related to pics being distorted. If you look at the pic posted on the HT FB page of the 2.0 sculpt, they are taken by different people.

well if there are in hand pics then you won't be PO'ing it, you'd be ordering it since it is already released for someone to actually have in-hand pics

Pic's taken with SLR's (kit lens or Zoom lens, not the fish eyes/wide angle variant) will have very little to un-noticeable lense distortion.

Depends. Unless it's sold out, there'll still be opportunities. When she ships in Asia, there'll still be time to PO from Sideshow as there's usually a 2-3 week delay between those two and when Sideshow starts shipping theirs, there'll still be a 1-2 week delay before retailers ship theirs also giving plenty of time to PO Alice. And if the latter is the chosen route, there's almost a month (and sometimes more) window allowing for pre-ordering.

I've always been able to PO all HT figures once is released in HK.. but dunno if you guys still can preorder the figure at US retailers once is released in HK.¿?

I used to PO from SSC long time ago.. but I ended up paying more: The parcel always held in customs and ended up paying crazy taxes, and most expensive shipping rates, than if I PO from HK for example, because I've never paid tax from HK, and the shipping and price are always cheaper for me .. and most of the Europeans

Anyways, Ill do the same as always: I'll wait for the first " in hand pictures" when it is released in HK , and if the HS looks good, I'll get her... and if not, then...Bye, Bye Alice, Hasta la vista Baby

I afraid I bear bad news. I spoke to a guy who went to the toyfair in Singapore recently and he was told by the HT people there that the Alice on display is the mass production version.

Alice HS has actually been redone a few times and apparently this is the approved one by the licensor. He also showed me pics in his camera that's distortion free and I am afraid it's really as bad as we feared.

I guess this time it is out of HT hands because for whatever reason, the licensor felt that this is the best HS with Milla's likeness.

I mean, maybe the guy I spoke with is bull____ting me but I think it's better that we be prepare for the worse.

Not sure if anyone realized this but the picture on the left was taken at the recent Singapore Toyfair where the "changed" HS appeared.

I am really confused about this now. The picture on the left looks really good while the pics I saw looks very disappointed. I really hope it turned out like the pic on the left.

HT should release the first Alice head as carded TTF, with no licensing issue ... so that we can build a clone Alice squad

Flash (directed/built-in).... is always never good tool for photography especially be used to judge a face sculpt, Obscure the shadows.

Oh maybe the sculpt has always been like that and it's the mass production version that did live up to the proto expectation.

If this turns out for the worse, I hope it can be repainted to look better.

Either way, the final approval of a HS has nothing to do with HT. It's just bizarre that a (supposedly) inferior HS was approved instead (if that was indeed the case here) by Milla's camp.

The "final product might be slightly different" disclaimer is a very standard statement that you find on almost anything. It's not really something a company use all the time as a _____ you to the consumer.

It's almost a given that you can't expect the final product you receive to be exactly the same as the prototype.

It's more of a protection from some really *sshole consumers who want to stir up trouble because his burger is not as big as the one in the advertisement.

People do realize that the "Large Marge" Alice is a photoshop....right? I feel like I've seen that pic too many times when people are describing/comparing the potentially changed sculpts.

I thought that a few posts of it ago and was getting ready to comment. But then i thought people must be seeing what they want to see in anger or ignorance and that pointing out it was a photo shop would be a waste of a post. Because its still obviously what some people see when they look at the regular one anyway. (or at least act like that's what it looks like)

I know the pic on the right is a joke. Anyone who has been following this thread will know. But the picture on the left was taken at STGCC. I know because I know the guy who took it. It was taken from his facebook.
