He'll be warming lots of spots right in the For Sale section soon after he ships.

I don't know if I would count this one out too quickly. I have a funny feeling that it will be something of a sleeper hit, selling more than you might think. Even though he was a secondary (maybe even a tertiary?) character, he was popular, subtle, humorous and was played sympathetically and well by a good character actor.

I suspect it will surprise a few people. Still, and regardless...mine is day one POed via SSC.

Why so serious?

And it's still a guy in a suit [yawn] that costs $250.

Hot Toys is laughing all the way to the bank. :duh

He'll fit nicely in an "action banker" collection. :lol

Oh I concede that he is basically 'a guy in a suit'. But he is also a good character within the realms of the story.

These are targeted releases aimed at a loyal fan-base, and whilst that description does play directly into your contention somewhat, it plays straight into mine too, so to simply right him off as a shelf warmer or an '"action banker" is selling it short a bit.

I could see him being like Fury or Hawkeye. They will not build many and he will sell out sooner than the more popular characters.

I don't care if the only one that Sideshow sells is to me. Im not in this for Sideshow's profits.

Im in it for Coulson.

:rock

your not alone SSC is selling one to me :hi5:

Same here! I mean, I hope that Sideshow and Hot Toys make a decent profit on Coulson, so they'll be willing to consider doing more "secondary-but-well-loved" character figures in the future, but as long as I get my Coulson figs (some impulse drove me to PO two of them the day POs opened!), I'm happy :')

Which is what I also think. The figure itself is plain.... But let's not forget about his B.F.G!!! :horror

Like Maria Hill. Hopefully.

Basically this figure for me is like a war between my wallet and my heart :gah:.., and guess what?! the heart always won the battle.., Phil just too damn special for me., and i just couldn't let this figure pass (not on my watch..), At the end "the heart wants what the heart wants".. :rock

It says $175 on SS's site???

Fair enough. I've seen him for far more (exclusive status?) on other sites like BBTS.

So . . . $35 TruType, $40 simple suit and $100 headsculpt?

Eh. BR joker is also a guy in a suit.

Pffft. A major villain in a very specific, hard-to-source suit with an equally complex headsculpt. Nicholson Joker is the same deal.

But if you find The Joker comparable to Agent Coulson then . . . fine. :cuckoo:

I could see buying a parted head and gun if one is a completist, but even $100 for this fig seems like a stretch.
The vintage Cap cards cost Hot Toys about what--seventy cents--to produce? This is one for the OCD folks.

Yeah, like Pepper.

I'm already on the bus. P/O'd him the first day. I passed on Widow, Hawkeye and Fury but I just couldn't on this one. I mean, it's Coulson!

I'm tempted by this figure, guy in a suit? Yeah, so what, Hawkeye's gear wasn't very exciting either, Fury was a man in a trench coat.

Buy it or don't, whatever, but I can see the appeal of the character.

It'd make a good talking point in a collection too because of the fact it is "just a guy in a suit".

For HT $175 is as cheap as it gets. Most other figures are $50 to $100 more.

It's not how much it cost to make it's about how much you enjoy the character. All of this stuff is way overpriced.
