Oh for gods sake people, they killed Coulson off in the middle of the movie, it was a major plot point. There was nothing vague about it. Huge dagger through the chest and he sat dead with his eyes open whilst fury looked on, not running for a paramedic.

This is all post rationalisation because they decided they needed him for a spin off TV show. Nothing more.

It's comic book land, they can do what they want really, but rewatching the Avengers after the Shield TV show comes out with a living Coulson in it is going to be a more heartless experience.

His death gave The Avengers the emotional depth that it needed, unexpected and moving in the middle of an action fest. Personally as much as I love Coulson as a character, I think it's a big mistake.

But there is money to be made and money talks, they have already cashed up on The Avengers.

Maybe. But it really doesn't matter.

The way the scenes are in Avengers, it's 100% believable within the story that Fury could've lied. We don't see the parametics work on him or if they're able to revive him. We don't see a body afterward. We only have Fury's word that "they called it" over the headset. And it wouldn't go against Fury's character to lie, as we see him lie about the cards.

It actually works within the story (which is the main thing IMO) , so it doesn't matter their reasons or whether or not it was ultimately planned to be that way.

I agree with this . . 100% . . .

:)

I don't care either way..... just want my Coulson figure!

:exactly: :peace :yess:

It's funny, I've seen The Avengers about 20 times between the theater and at home. And although there's always been speculation that Coulson was not dead, it's only been recently that it was confirmed 100%.

Watched it again today, for the first time since knowing for sure that he's not dead. When I saw the scene where Agent Hill confronts Fury about the Cap A cards being in his locker, and Fury saying "they needed a push"....I just viewed that whole interaction differently.

Before, I viewed it as Fury was using Coulson's death to motivate and pull the team together. Today it was more like Fury is deceiving the team and lying to them to bring the team together.

I wonder if anyone else felt the same way.

I think you are trying to see something that isn't there.

Just as I said several pages back.

We don't see what the medics do infact do.

It's actually pretty awesome that they did it. I really does just go that much further in making the Marvel Studios universe feel very comic booky in a way nothing else prior to these films have.

Just used MIST13 for $20 off, thanks SSC!

Yup, this coupon prompted me to make the jump as well. Wasn't that interested, but the suited body makes a good kit-bash - Gordon, Wayne, Stark, Stane, etc. Plus it might move up a few notches in my mind if the show is any good.

Meh, cancelled from Sideshow and bought from guobei11. Even with a $20 discount, shipping and import fees to the UK make it kind of redundant, when I can pay $199 to a seller I trust and have it customs safe and sooner.

Oh, yes.
