:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl Days later the same debate rages.....

HT did a bang up job on this figure, I don't get all the complaining. The costume design is not HT problem. :panic:

i really thought the 1st movie was ok. with this one having the rock and willis? i think it will be better.
the figure looks awesome but yeah sanshouxma things are getting out of hand price wise and the amount of figures coming out wise.

Yeah I've been priced out for a little under a year now. Only new figures I've gotten was the Avengers Capt. America and the new TDKR Batman. The Batman I had to do a payment plan on. Now I'm looking to sell it. I didn't even take it out of the box yet.

I agree. I thought the first movie was decent for an action movie. I am looking forward to Retaliation, mostly for these fight scenes. And I hate to say it, but the movie design for Storm Shadow is starting to grow on me.

I just watched the trailer. I really can't wait to see the sequel. It's gonna be good I hope.

[Friendly fire!]
I think he was actually saying, it's pretty reasonable for storm shadow to be in white. :lol

I don't actually care if this makes sense in GI Joe universe or not, I just
care about the extensive realistic detailing we get in a Hot Toys figure.
SS definitely scores high in that aspect. :duff

LOL It's all good buddy. We're all firends here, and like friends in real life we sometimes tend to disagree on some things :1-1:

However, I think he wasn't saying that it's reasonable for SS to wear white. He was QUESTIONING it, thinking that ninjas aren't supposed to be wearing white in the first place, thus telling the naysayers of Retaliation SS to just accept the un-ninja movie outfit.

Also, I don't think it's Generation Gap. It's just bad designing pure and simple. And our different tastes and opinions, like how some young people are surprisingly rejecting the "new, modernized, up-to-date" Robocop costume and few older fans welcoming it. And no different are people's differing opinions regarding Man of Steel vs CR Superman, Batman Begins vs TDK armor, Classic vs New 52 Wonder Woman.

To cite a good example of good modernization is HAWKEYE. They have since thrown away the skirt and the mask and adapted the movie costume which was actually inspired by the Ultimate universe. I am yet to hear a die-hard silver-age Hawkeye fan to cry foul on that evolution.

Still, a good figure, I'd give HT that. I pray they give the same love to other figures that would be based from non-fellow countrymen actors.

I'm done guys, I said my piece. Enjoy this figure :peace

I think i get the hating on the costume more so now after the Hawkeye comparison.

Movie Hawkeye looked nothing like Comic Hawkeye and was **** looking. Where the **** was his mask at :slap

At least Storm Shadow looks more like Classic SS than the horrid Hawkeye costume did to the comics

Okay I said I was already done, but --

First, the movie Hawkeye was based on ANOTHER comic Hawkeye that is the ULTIMATE Universe version. He wears sunglasses in lieu of a mask. (It's like if you'd say Fury was supposed to be Causcasian, it's also because the SLJ Fury was based on the same comic universe, the design based and approved by SLJ himself years prior to the Marvel movies that we know now)

The only thing that makes this SS look like who he is is that he wears white, and that he's got what resembles a ninja mask.

Maybe the Hawkeye comparison was bad, but from there we can see that fans CAN embrace change as long as the change makes sense. The modern Hawkeye costume complements what the character does and his mobility.

Personally my gripe on the modern costume is all about the tuxedo tails on the coat, and the sneakers. And those are sneakers with thick soles, that could be trouble instead of beneficial for a ninja. Even runners nowadays train with sneakers that have thin soles to mimic barefoot running, allowing natural movement of the feet.

If anything, some people think that Hawkeye's costume evolved from good to better, while for SS Retaliation vs earlier SS designs it's the opposite.

There's still a hint of generation gap there. :lol
but i was just actually jesting at the seniors here when I said "generation gap." :D

Good comparison with Hawkeye! I loved Avengers movie HE (just shows how much of a newbie I am with Marvel - and much more with GI Joe. :lol)

I can't get over how good that shot looks. It looks like an actual promo pic for the film.

Still, gonna be passing on this. Holding out hope for CC, and he better be cheaper considering how his only weapon is a pistol.

Have you seen other HT prices.. Ada Wong $199 :lol

These guys are gonna look awesome on the ninja temple!

Yeah, a ninja wearing a leather bath robe & sneakers and carrying a handgun will look just awesome on the ninja temple. :monkey1

Screw this thing.
