I did remember coming across them a long time ago, but I never purchased from them since they are located in Hawaii I think and shipping is pretty high because of that, then again I might be wrong, mate.

damm...you are right..forget that..

No wait, shipping to me is only $20. That sounds normal right? I think overall it comes out to a similar price total to SSC, except you get reward points from SSC, which is usually why I purchase from them.

yes..but SSC shipping to me is $10....that's sounds to cheap.

Yep, it's $10 to everyone in the States, so it'll be about $215, plus you get back just over $10 in reward points. The $190 + $20 shipping will make it just about the same, but you save about $5 with SSC and you will most likely get your figure first before shopafx. I meant shipping from shopafx to me was only $20 which I think is what the normal shipping price is for other retailers like AEC or BBTS for a HT figure. Even some SSC figures ship at around $15-$20, like my Rescue Captain America.

It's not those retailers' fault, though. Sideshow releases these to them in smaller numbers so they can get more folks to buy from them directly. So, customers all start thinking the same way you do. It's just a better deal to go through Sideshow, get the cheap shipping and rewards points.

I remember when places like Alter ego were cheaper; being the same price, why would I order them over SSC directly?

Bad math, bad business

They still sell some items cheaper, but you only get 2% reward points as opposed to 5% from SSC, and their shipping is usually more than SSC, at least for me. For example, I was looking into the DX13, the price on AEC is $290 compared to $305, but with the shipping costs and the reward points, I think you end up saving more with SSC so I ended up waitlisting from them as opposed to securing one from AEC.

Actually the $10 shipping from SSC doesn't include packing the box in another one with cushioning. So your shopper box can be dented along with product which happened to my Rescue Cap. Also the box was dirty and the UPS label won't come off easily. It would be another 10 to pack it.
So 20 shipping plus the already expensive price.
AFX shipping about 15 but they also price match. So you can price match a cheaper shipping from say Toy Anxiety or Cornerstore Comics.
Sure SS offers reward points, but you need a lot to make any difference. And I don't buy from them frequently because of high price and additional for pack out. I only get exclusives from them like Coulson.

Very good point about the lack of a double-box shipping. Did not know that about AFX and price matching. Might start looking into it. Thanks for the info, mate! I take it you've ordered from them before? How's the service?

They ship out of Hawthorne, CA. Says on website and I get most of my stuff from there. The Regan Group or something. And they are cheaper shipping than SS depending where you are. This is with SS pack out option, where others do it automatically.

These figures look great! Easy pass for me as I'm not a Huge West Batman fan but did enjoy the show for the episodes I've seen. Plus the goofy Batman movie.

Happy to those looking forward to these figures! Congratz and I'm glad Hot Toys is bringing you some grails! :rock

Yes I have ordered from them many times. They are my go to place. Cheapest prices for the most part and relatively cheaper shipping. For example I ordered Batman and Robin. Batman by himself about 15 shipping. With Robin it's 17-18 total. Remember this includes double boxing. There was the option of shipping them as they arrive, or wait until all items arrive them ship together. I opted to wait and ship together because I assume they will be released at the same time. AFX price match is on the page when you order, "Price guarantee" button. They answer emails fairly quickly during service hours and phone calls. Though I never had to return or exchange anything. Also no penalty for cancellation as long as your order hasn't been processed yet.
They sometimes sell out more quickly. My back up places are Cornerstore Comics and Toy Anxiety. Use to be Alter Ego but they have increased their prices. Got my Batmobile from there when AFX sold out and AE still had cheaper prices, in fact same as AFX. I used BBTS for my Hulk because they were the last place to sell out.
Cornerstore has a cheaper flat rate (they double box) but their prices for these figures are not discounted. Toy Anxiety has cheaper shipping but don't double box, and you have to pay in full when you preorder. You can always have AFX price match shipping of CSC or Toy Anxiety. Thing with Toy Anxiety they get pre orders late and the competitor for matching has to have the pre order available in order to match. For example TA doesn't have these guys for pre order yet. Course you can wait, but then AFX might sell out and you will have TA but with no double box.
When I started my collection with Capt America TFA, I wanted to get from AE, when they were cheap, but sold out that's how I found AFX.
