Could anyone link a pic of the real sword prop? or tell me why it has girly ribbons?

The one he was given by Yashida in the well/prison did have brown and a little blue string at the end of it. It is called a sageo and is used to tie the katana to a belt.

The sageo is attached to the saya (scabbard). The HT Wolverine katana has the material tied to the end of the tsuka (hilt).

I haven't seen the film, and haven't yet seen a still of the katana with the blue and the brown, and had also been wondering about them.

He got the sword during World War II, in a Japanese prison camp. The sword was part of their uniform

The shin guntō was a weapon and badge of rank used by the Imperial Japanese Army between the years of 1935 and 1945. Officers' ranks were symbolized by coloured tassles tied to a loop at the end of the hilt. The corresponding colors were brown/red & gold General; brown & red field officer; brown & blue company or warrant officer; brown sergeant, sergeant major or corporal.

So since it has a blue ribbon that suggest Yashida was a warrant officer at the time when he gave it to him.

Good info, Centrocal. That explains the mystery.

Ugh totally want to love this, face sculpt is spot on. But the eye position just bugs me, figures looking to the side limit the kind of poses you can do

You can always get the eyes redone to be pointing forward. If the final release turns out to be looking left, i will just get mine repainted.

Oh cool, let me know how that turns out. Might consider it, but I'd worry that it might throw off the expression.

Price is already high. Including that jacket would have hurt sales, I would imagine.

Would have helped the look of the A-shirt though. Hide the fact the body is smaller then Jackman.
