I really want to snag the light's base off Toy Anxiety.

leaning towards keeping this version and cancelling the light armor as I feel like this is better representation of Thor. Please comment if you disagree....maybe it will help me make up my mind. All I want is one Thor that reps the comic book version with a modern take.

by Modern, there's been 2 Thor looks to come out within 3 year (I think)

Modern Thor (Heroic Age Look) - This is my favorite look to Thor

Although both are wearing a helmet, so that's the only thing missing from the figures. So really, depends on what you think looks better. Who cares what others say.

I think the light armored version looks great, but I MUST HAVE CHAINMAIL!

Just watched The Dark World again for the heck of it...It's crazy how much darker colored thor's chainmail looks in the film, with bits of the scale sticking out to create uneven texture. At times it looks almost black. I think that's what's off putting about the Hot Toys armored version - the sleeve is too silver and the pattern is too perfectly even. I think if they had applied some weathering on the arm it would push the armored version over the top :lecture

That was a nit that was thrown around when this was first revealed, and I agree. I wish the chainmail was darker like it appeared on screen too

It boils down to which one you like better but maybe exclusivity, the rock base, how he appeared more in the movie or in your favorite scenes are things to consider in making a decision too

It frustrates me that the armored version didn't get a rock base. All we get is a lousy cardboard circle.

Nor will it likely ever be. TA doesn't part out exclusives unless SSC can't move them quick enough (ie the con exclusives) at lets retailers buy them. Considering this is wait listed, they won't be getting any.

Fuuuuuudge. I'm not paying $100 on eBay. Guess I'll be gluing some gravel together...

Also, I think it's only fair to judge these figures (either Light or Heavy) on their RRP. People will charge (and pay) whatever they want for collectibles.
Their value for money can only be gauged by their actual sale price, not their secondary market prices.

But regardless, they are both reasonably expensive for what you get. :lol

This cost the same as The Wolverine where I live. I say Wolverine is over priced

They are all overpriced, yet we buy them anyway :lol

This is the wooping truth. And buying them anyway is the exact reason why everything has become so inflated!

I've said it in several different threads recently, EVERYTHING in the high end 1/6 licensed game is $10-$40 overpriced (HT of course being the main culprit). I understand that things have been improving each year and the price would continue to hike accordingly, but I think they hit the plateau last year but prices continue to rise. There really is no way for me to make logical sense out of why the DX12 was $260, the DX11 I think was $275..... and Winter Soldier is $250
