Guess I'm different. I don't think Hot Toys (i'm not speaking about any other company) has beaten TDK to death by any stretch. But I also don't care if they ever make another one - I'm not holding out for perfection, as I feel DX12 was good enough as far as 1/6 goes - I don't care about any QS cowls. TDK is also my preferred Batman iteration by a wide margin and (for new product) I only collect 1/6 figures at this point in time. Other Batman interpretations either don't interest me, or I decisively don't like them, regardless of scale. These specific figures have interested me because I very much enjoyed the movies, and despite being a big Batman fan growing up, I'm not a Batman collector, I'm not even a TDK collector. I don't have any plans to acquire any Batman related merch from anyone else.

:goodpost: i dont think they have beaten TDK to death by any means. Its a great franchise, lots of fans, and they as a company enjoy making them for us fans and themselves. I am sure they will eventually get to other Batman film franchises that havent been done yet. They are a small company, they can only do so much. Newer stuff i am sure has to come first over older films. And some of their licenses are so big like IM, Avengers, TDK, and now Guardians that keeps them extremely busy. Im not even sick of their IM figures. They are huge fans of IM clearly, they love making them, and it doesnt effect me in any way if they make them or not. I dont collect them, so i just dont really care. Im a Batman collector, and right now TDK is my favorite all-time of any series so TDK always will come first for me. If someday i feel a better Batman franchise is created i am sure I will collect those too just like i have collected TDK.

People get too worked up about other franchises not being made or whatever. Really doesnt effect me. They make who they want. if they dont make a certain franchise, who cares. not the end of the world. there are plenty of other batman toys. plenty.

If I had to pick a side, I'd definitely be in the "MOAR TDK PLEASE!" camp. I can find things to like in many Batman incarnations, but Nolan's is definitely my favorite, so I like it when there's a new release.

That said, I definitely empathize with those who have been eagerly awaiting releases from other lines, and the frustration they must feel when they feel those lines has been pushed to the backburner to concentrate efforts on more releases for lines that already have plenty of releases. They probably wouldn't mind these releases as much if they didn't believe that they were being made at the expense of the releases they most want. I take joy in the releases of what I like, but no joy in the frustration of others not getting what they like.

I have no problem with more TDK stuff, but there are certain times when it feels cheap. That might not be the intention, but it seems like a last ditch effort to squeeze a few more ounces of milk out of a cow that's about to dry up. The QS Batman felt like a genuine passion project when we saw how it finally came out, and this has elements of that, like the QS faceplates, the armory, and Alfred, but there's too much that's been rehashed to fill me with that same sense of enthusiasm. To be fair, though, the QS wasn't exactly a home run until it actually came out, so, maybe, I'll be more enthusiastic once this starts shipping.

And the fact that after all of these attempts, the best TDK figure (1/6, 1/4, any scale really) that has ever been released is made by Enterbay.

Yet still, people want a 1/4 BB suit made by HT.

because i disagree....I love the QS figure more than the EB Batman figure. I like the EB figure its the best Begins thats been done, but HTs version overall to me is better. EB got too many things wrong out-of-box. HTs looks amazing right out of the box IMO.

All of Hot Toys TDK/TDKR Batman suited figures look like a cross between a chipmunk and Jim Carrey's the Mask (sans green with bat ears).

Dat dem there long necks and PERS balls don't help either.

Good shop, the likeness is almost uncanny.

Just needs more of the Mask's cheek bone/temple structure and flat topped head. Maybe pop out eyes for good measure.

Not my opinion but thanks anyway. :lol Maybe that is one point we partially have the same opinion about, that the DX12 PERS headsculpt has a lot of room for improvements, as pointed out by many here many times before.

I mean despite other probably normal inaccuracies, that's the only thing that pops out right of the box. That's why many wished they would have improved it with this release. Still hope for it but I doubt it judging from recent pictures. Guess it will happen if we see TDKR armory one day.

Anyway, getting the release, basically not for the DX12 though I need another one for an additional setup but for the most accurate armory and for the Alfred figure / the outfit, will make the third Alfred on display then. :lol :woo

Could imagine most will have the Bat suit on display in the armory with the empty cowl somehow like this, so I bet most will not really care about the PERS head this time:

Crap likeness or not, I bet a lot of people are buying this solely for the Batman figure, bad PERS and all.

Depending on how the head turns out, I'll probably put one of my DX 02s in the armory as the costume stand in considering it's the most restrictive in terms of articulation of all the Batman figures to date. Then my DX 12 can get upgraded to "Batpod rider" (which has been the MMS 71 for me) and the armory Batman can be the standard displayed Batman figure with the DX 02 stand base (alongside DX 11 Joker). Bruce can be by the armory with Alfred and the extra DX 12 that I built up from part outs can be the Hong Kong jump Bruce with DX 02 cape pack and sticky bomb gun off to the side somewhere.

My plan as well. Here's hoping they fix the PERS, or at least make it similar to the DX13 squinty PERS.

You were able to get the MMS71 on the Batpod??!! :horror

Yeah, MMS 71 was practically made for the Batpod. I also prefer the TDK Batpod cape attachment for it as opposed to that dopey plastic thing with the TDKR pod.

MMS 71 is the better looking rider in my opinion (and easier to pose on it). The DX 02 and DX 12 look too awkward because of their suits. 71 on the other hand looks perfect and any inaccuracies of the figure are hidden considering it's lying on it's beer belly.

Pretty sure the DX02 will still make great in the armory, :rock just not sure if it will snap in the holders right out of the box. Actually almost in the same boat when it's about the Bat-Pod. As long as I wasn't sure how I wanted to display things in a final / long time pose I didn't put DX12 on there with all mods required. With the Armory coming I'll fully mod my current DX12 for the Bat-Pod for my planned truck chase dio, but I'll probably leave the Armory as it is. Think I'll try to grab a good deal on a loose DX12 suit on secondary marked to go along with the Joker in another setup at some point.

Well my predictions of an early release on this by next month isn't going to happen..so much for trying to predict HT:slap

I don't think they'd push this one early, it would really upset retailer (and customer) schedules for such an expensive item.
