I don't think the stock cape is that bad; I really like the feel of it but it just needs to hang a bit better. Maybe they should have scraped the wires and tried adding some weight to the bottom or something.

If you mess with it you can still get it to look good though.

Agree, I don't think the original cape is bad at all, and I like its shape; sometime I'd like to have it displayed with it spread out like when Batman glides in the films.

It's bad. The shape isn't the issue. it's the material and how it doesn't hang correctly. Once you set up the replacement cape, there's no going back.

I agree, it could/should drape better. Alas, I'm not aware of any custom capes that are still being commissioned. But for me the stock cape doesn't bother.
