That could be true, too. I just hope they aren't reusing the DX 12 sculpt because they're too cheap to change it.
Or all this is just place holder stuff.
Like someone pointed out. They clearly just grabbed a Toys Legend Dark Knight custom Armory, ****ed around with it a bit, threw it on a plastic pedestal and took some pics. The only new **** is the Alfred sculpt and the clothing. I mean, look in the video. The "Dark Knight" nameplate and logo on the remote are CLEARLY pieces of paper glued onto the mock ups.
Hey... Any pics of the paint? Would like to see the improved mod.
I would agree, but i am wondering if they can do that. I mean, copyright violation etc? just saying they must have made a first attempt with their own armory and stuff. But i get your point, this still may be space holder and improvisations will happen, just that i think they canT take toys legend armory and play around and make some changes, click pics and show us. Prototype must have been made or so i think.
I still don't see why it has PERS in the first place. It ain't a DX.
Put more effort into the actual sculpt of the headsculpt instead of having to produce the bits and doo dads for the PERS system and I guarantee it would be a better product. Nice painted eyes wouldn't kill this release. Isn't face plates enough?
I used a fine tip marker pen to paint out the flesh tone on the lower lids.
Copyright wise, there's really nothing ToysLegend can do, as their product isn't licensed. With that being said, I certainly hope HT has more scruples than to rip off another company's work (I understand modifying one for a one-off prototype).
If it's that difficult, I, too, would rather they just cram it. I don't get how Howard and co. mean have a feature that is so terribly inconsistent. 89 Batman, Sparrow, 89 Joker, Mime Joker, and, in my opinion, DX 11 Joker all integrate the feature fantastically, and that's not even counting the DX 13, which seems to be the best use of it in a non-made up face, yet, but they really need to start delivering that same sort of quality on every release. If it doesn't look right, work with it until it does.
Write to HT now!!! Even if it's customer service! haha
on.cc has their pictures up. The pers on the head look exactly the same which is a shame because they could have fixed it like the 1/4 version. Everything else looks great.
I also don't get why they do that with the eye make up. Why the blobs of flesh? Why the eyelashes?
That last Bat-pic looks like he's about to drop an F-bomb.
Honestly, though, people should really just voice their concerns. If you want squinty eyes, post as many pics as you can of squinty eyes, along with photoshop jobs and such, and let them know to change it. Same goes for the cowl shape. They do listen from time to time, but you've got to speak up if you want them to.
What's their email address? Let's start a thread and encourage everyone to email.
How did they get Keaton so right yet on what...attempt number four of the Dark Knight suit, it's still wrong.
HT clearly choose to get certain figures wrong, this being one of them. They have chosen to get figures right such as Keaton Bats, Bane, Man of Steel - all correct on their first attempt but the ones they know they can make money from they seem to always (deliberately) get something wrong.
I think it's just HT sometimes choose the wrong person to sculpt a figure, as far as HS is concerned.
But in the figures you mentioned, HT got it right:
Keaton Batman - sculpted by PAN (where the hell is this sculptor, HT?!)
Bane - sculpted by Lee So Young (same sculptor as Loki and new Wolverine)
MOS Superman - sculpted by Yulli (who's more consistent in quality this year compared to her previous years)
DX12 is by Kojun. Same guy who sculpts Tony Stark almost in every release, and each time it's a different actor. He sculpted Jack Sparrow perfectly, though.
Im Jung Hyuk is their sculptor that I'm gonna watch out for next year. Alfred sculpt is good, and Jor El Russel Crow is amazing (though final product came out too soft). I look forward to what this sculptor gets to work on next.
Not to mention realism and accuracy instead of sculpts that look more like cartoon characters. It still blows my mind that she pretty much nailed Cavill!
I showed someone the Alfred sculpt and they thought it was a picture of Michael Caine! When you say Jor El final PVC product sculpt turned out too soft do you mean it lost details or definition from the resin prototype sculpt?
Yeah Soft sculpt means that the texture on the sculpt (particularly the face) appears too smooth. It could make the sculpt appear shiny in some photos under some lighting, and/or the actor it's supposed to be a portrait of appear too young. This is what happened to the DX10 Arnold, which is thankfully not the case with the DX13. However, the Jor El sculpt is a very good portrait of Russel Crowe despite the softness of the final HS.
Hmm interesting, I think it will also be the case with the Alfred sculpt, I can't see how a PVC sculpt will be able to look as detailed as the resin sculpt. I mean it looks like there are real wrinkles on the Alfred sculpt. Personally I think the MOS sculpt while very accurate to the Prototype (as far as facial shape goes) looks too smooth as well.
I hope it won't turn out soft. Not sure why some HS turn soft on the final product. DX14 is heavily textured, from proto to final product. Perhaps it's possible that different factories handle the reproduction of different sculpts, and that some are not as good as the others?
