Hey, guys... just thought I'd drop by with a few photos of the glider I've been working on. Like I said before I don't want to clutter this thread up with custom work, so here are a few photos, and otherwise you can follow the link to my thread in the Art/Customs section of the forum!

So I have an opinion question... I figured out a way to perhaps allow the glider to fold up. Not specifically to a tiny little thing, but essentially to fold up to about the size of the two supports to the left and right of the central V shape. If this was possible and didn't affect the look of it when opened up, would this be desirable to most people? The idea being that it would probably store much easier that way..

Here's the thought... the glider would fold at the red lines and be able to do so via small hinges as illustrated with yellow boxes. Now in thoery the glider can fold up WITHOUT the hinges AS IS since I affixed the metal supports to the plastic support backing. However, the hinges would allow for A) a place to connect and solder all the supports to and B) The ability to lock the hinges in place so the glider stays open when unfolded. Hopefully that all makes sense...

My toilet paper shipped too, should have it in a couple days. I have no Returns Bats to display it with yet, however.

With SSC now shipping the single figure out, I wonder how much longer for the deluxe set?

I am undecided still on getting the toilet paper for my figure. Will see how i can get him to look without it first.

The Aussie dollar has dropped a bit lately and toiletries always seem to take the biggest hit when that happens

Yup, gonna open this sucker up tonight when I get home if I'm not inebriated.


What's cool is, back in 2012 the DX 09 Batman was scheduled to arrive on on my doorstep on the 9th of Febuarary but got stuck in the post because of snow/weather delays, so I got it the following week. This time 4 years later, it hits right on the 9th. Pretty cool.



Also your glider is impressing the hell out of me. If you think you can achieve the folding design and implement it well, I'd say go for it. That would make it even more impressive, especially if you wanted to take pics of the cape "unfurling".

Folding up is a great idea. Like you said, easier to store/ transport. I can't wait for the final product! It's looking great!

Thanks. There is a link in that post where you can mention your interest in the actual customs thread. Once I have more concrete information about it I will see who actually wants to get one so I can figure out how much materials I will need, give a cost, etc.

As good as it looks (and I am VERY happy with it so far) I am already thinking of various little things I will be changing to get it to look just right. I will probably be covering it with fabric (rather than just paiting it black) to really tie it all together and to look more authentic as a cloth glider rather than a piece of fabric.

I did a test fit of spandex today... it is ridiculously difficult to work with given the weird shape... so I'm still not 100% sure how I will get that done, but I have a ton of ideas. It's fun figuring this stuff out, though I don't like wasting materials on the prototype. Owell, it makes for a better end product!

Yep they have just got mine in today. No issues to report,everything is fine so far. The ratchet joints help a lot with posing,wish 89 had them also. **** think i want another of these,it looks excellent.

Sideshow is the worst at this, they want you to pay an extra 10 bucks for them to pack it out on a bigger box. My shipper was flawlessly clean!
