I'm not sure--I think "We don't have plans on Penguin and Catwoman yet" could just as easily mean that they intend to do them but they're still delayed for now. Glass half full interpretation, I guess.

Maybe, but at best that's wishful thinking. Have to take HT at its word for now and realize that you won't be getting Penguin or Catwoman any time soon if at all. So you can't reasonably make plans for them on the shelf. Which, for me, takes away any enthusiasm I hold for a 2nd Keaton Batman.

This Batman was an easy 'bash' essentially for HT to throw out there. And a whole new Batman is on the way soon. I see no incentive for them to "finish the set" on a movie that, as Budget Stark says, has very little appeal in HK.

With "no plans" to do Catwoman and Penguin some three years after claiming this license was "coming soon", a quarter-assed attempt at a headsculpt (not even half-assed), and no glider cape - I honestly have to wonder why they bothered to do anything with this license at all if the final and only product to come from it is merely a slightly different version of the '89 Batman figure.

Exactly. Even for a diehard Burton Bats fan, it's hard to display this guy next to.... Nothing.

89 Bats has the Majestic Joker figure and the Batmobile.

This guy? With what? That excuse of a Michael Keaton figure? While I think the suit is great, the omission of the glider seriously pisses me off. One of the most iconic scenes in the film (along with the unmasking, that is also screwed because of how UGLY the HS is).

And on top of that, no Penguin and No Catwoman. Jesus.

And the 1/4 promised offerings? LOL.

It truly feels like a half assed release, like something out of HT collective asses. Much like an afterthought.

Just curious, but How is batman an easy bash when everything is a brand new sculpt....nothing shares a similar base....even the movie outfit was completely resculpted from the ground up...you couldn't overlap them if you wanted since the silhouette doesn't even match up....

I mean the set. The tux is from Leslie Cheung; the Batsuit is revised of course but many of the basic parts and how it goes together have already been worked out on the first Batman, some tweaks to the existing mouth pieces, same eye panel, etc. Not a literal 'bash' -- that's why I put the quotes there -- but its a familar road to HT with some literally reuseable parts and some that just required tweaking or minimal resculpting.

I'm betting it was more of an afterthought to shut people up since people have been begging for it. No Catwoman or Penguin in sight, reuse of mouth pieces from DX09 and no glider as well. Would rather exclude the Keaton figure and have them put the effort into all the things missing.

Perhaps one day.

I appreciate your optimism, but if after three years of "coming soon" they haven't even started those figures and currently don't intend to, I can't share it.

You can always pose him by the Batmobile, as it's a mix between the '89 and Returns car. Heck, if you're brave you can put it up on its turntable like during the Red Triangle fight scene.

I'm guessing it was finished after the other one...and still tweaking the actual piece...perhaps the crappy one we got was the best of the bunch then....

Honestly it was hard to tell if that was a picture of the actress or a picture the figure. I love it

And it makes me sad because I'd buy Keaton bat if I knew we were getting more characters

Let's not forget Loki from Thor 2 was revised. DX10, QS002, TS, Reeve superman, DX06, ASM1, Starlord, Elder Pred, many releases have had updated head sculpts. It is good to bash? Absolutely. Bash away so it can get revised. Which is why I'm confident in getting the two pack. Ripped cowl alone will go for $80-$100. Keaton HS will go for $60-$80 so the two pack is a good deal compared to buying it parted.

If I was fortunate enough to own the WGP Catwoman, I don't think I'd even want the HT version if it were ever made. It's one of the most realistic figures I've ever seen; not sure if HT could top it.

How much did the WGP go for? Are they even still available for purchase?

You'd think Hot Toys would understand that issuing a definite "yes" to either Penguin or Catwoman coming down the line would make people much more willing to pick up this second Keaton Batman. Assuming all the truly diehard Keaton Batman fans bought the DX-09 plus a Joker, what's the incentive to buy this figure? A better cape? Catwoman or Penguin certainly would have been great incentives.

What gets me is that they say ''guys, it's just a prototype'' like as though A) changes are guaranteed and B) like we wouldn't or even shouldn't post our reactions to what HT chooses to show us. Because total silence is conducive to great discussion and to let HT know that they need to go back to work on it

I'm buying the two pack, hoping for a revised sculpt. But if not, hopefully I can use the surely better sculpt that I'm sure Hot Toys will include with a Keaton/Gough/Vault set.

I'm pretty sure that Sideshowtoys will sell it in the same week that it appears in HK.

Has that happened before?
I buy all my hot toys direct from Hong Kong since the MMS 67 batman begins was released. That must be nearly 10 years ago. Used the same guy all the time since, no tax on the figures and I get them within 3-5 days of release.

Headsculpt is dead-on to Keaton. It's the sculpt of hair thats off.

I think people aren't just making things out.

The Batman figure looks really good. Based on the pics, the Keaton sculpt is very disappointing.
