First time seeing this. I saw the Batman/Bruce Wayne preview in the above banner and rubbed my eyes in disbelief. So when did this pop up, last week?
I haven't read any of the reactions, but judging by the post count to this new thread already, it must be something big. I'm impressed overall. The actual Batman figure looks fantastic, perhaps even the best 1/6 Batman figure they've done. I love the DX 09, but the sculpt on this looks sleeker and sharper, like Batman was carved out of a precious material or something. Just look at that body suit.
The Bruce Wayne sculpt (the one previewed) doesn't look too hot though to be honest. It looks like one of their worst sculpts ever. I don't see Keaton in there at all. Honestly, it looks like a Sideshow head sculpt with the round face and big eyes. It's definitely an eye sore for me. It almost seems like it was a last minute inclusion that was thrown together. If we get one of the sculpts that JC Hong posted, like if I imagine the set as the quoted pics posted below,
Then I'm all in.
+amazing looking Batman figure
+looks like Keaton in the suit, love the "talking" mouth sculpt above
+great, sharp, statuesque sculpt on the suit
+all the accessories he had in the film (forgot about the remote)
+nice idea for the set (love the bonus cowl)
+both options are VERY affordable ($219 for Batman and $330 for the 2-pack? That's great)
+Q3-4 release? 5 months before it arrives in our hands!?! Awesome
+No more PERS! It's about time. Love that we can control the eyes separately without worrying about breakage
+possibly no PERS panel, good
-swap out faces are weak, how are you not going to include an angry/pissed off face or the sadistic smile?
-Bruce portrait in the specs/pics is weak, I hope the one JC Hong posted is the one we get, or something better
-looks like he's swimming in the tux, tailoring looks TDK Armory bad
-no glider, only accessory that's missing to make this 100% complete
Overall I'm impressed. If the final product for the Bruce Wayne portrait is improved and actually good, this will be one hell of a set. I'd be tempted to buy multiples.
I also have faith that we'll see Penguin and Catwoman "soon". At least Penguin. This Batman looks like it was finished a while ago. They said in a QnA in 2012 how Batman and Penguin were ready to be revealed. Wouldn't surprise me if Penguin pops up soon. Not betting on it though, but it'd be nice. I could also see them doing an Armory/Vault set for '89 Batman. Do a 1989 2.0 with an improved DX 09 suit and head (no pers), more faceplates and a "repaint" of the Keaton Bruce Wayne portrait but in the classic turtle neck and jeans. Between the accessories and heads, lots of opportunity for reuse.
