That's exactly what i'm doing as well provided a V2 comes out. But they got a lot on their plate with characters and RO coming out in a year etc. we'll see.

Yeah, it'll be interesting to see how quickly they'll pump all of their Star Wars product out over the next couple of years

We won't see nearly as much merchandise for ROGUE ONE as we did TFA, but the licensees aren't going to sit on it, either.

EP8 will be another onslaught, though, and that's now less than 17 months away; with the first products about a year away. :-O

Doesn't really matter what the individual screenwriters and directors think, they're just employees. Lucasfilm (via Kennedy) says the prequels are "immovable objects" so they have to work within that space.

This. The whole notion of the new trilogy ignoring the PT was just wishful thinking by PT haters. It never even crossed the minds of the folks running the show.

They do have the luxury of not having to directly reference the PT, given the new movies continue on from the OT (and the Jedi are now "a myth"). But I doubt they'd have bothered getting Ewan to do that voiceover if the PT "never happened".

A few nods here and there won't get PT-haters riled up, surely - that kind of misses the point on why so many people hated it.

My god the amount of hate among OT/PT fans is ridiculous. Neither is ever going away, I happen to like both and the clone wars series and lots of the eu for the most part, everything Star Wars related has its flaws but there are enjoyable parts in all of it, people need to get over it, or just watch the OT for the rest of your life. Everyone should be happy that there are so many fans of Star Wars that we will continue to get new content, I for one just love the universe and want to see more new stories from it.

Yeah, I like it. Truth be told, I wasn't sure after the initial viewing. There was a lot to take in, and I was torn (and even a little emotional). It took another viewing or two for it to really start sinking in. It's definitely a return to form for Star Wars. By that I don't mean the nostalgia and OT references... I mean it's a return to a Star Wars that is about cool characters you actually care about and focused on them above all else. And it has real drama, heart, pathos and even genuine humor. Definitely a good start for this new Trilogy and a very good set up for what's to come.

I love the whole saga as I stated before, I worded my statement the way I did because I have never really seen people attacking the OT unless they were in an argument with someone trashing the PT and were trying to show that the OT isn't perfect either.
