Thinking about canceling my PO. I'm thinking it's a sure thing that Kylo 2.0 will be announced by Summer. Definitely a new version for Episode VIII. Maybe even a 3.0 for VIII. This figure seems too basic for this character. So much more that could have been done. Possibly rushed to market to coincide with movie release. He'll be the next Dark Knight Joker with multiple versions that keep getting better: Driver portrait, removable cape, Vader head, saber sound effects.

Sound effects? I will pass on little kiddie stuff like that. Hopefully Hot Toys stop trying to appeal to the weirdos and stop with that electronic sound effects crap. It's worthless to 99% of adults and it increases the cost. Why should everyone else pay extra so a few strange individuals can sit on the floor pressing a button to hear the same thing over and over?

I agree.
If you want sounds, just find a YouTube video of movie lines and play it next to the figure on your phone. Same effect and cuts cost. From what I've seen, the HT Vader should not cost $300. And even with the high cost, using the sound effects is needlessly complicated. I have no idea what HT were thinking. I'm going to be pissed if the next HT Kylo has an inflated price due to electronics.

I'd be willing to pay $250 to $260 at most of it comes with two sculpts, a snowy scenery base, and the Vader relic.

I'd love to be wrong but when has HT ever rushed out a V2 of a character that quickly? Batman/Iron Man's don't even get turned around that quick.

Hopefully they're so desperate to milk Star Wars to death that this'll be a first! :lol Really don't want to have to buy the v1, which imo is incredibly incomplete.

I'm fine with V1. Driver sculpt would be nice but its not like most people going to display the figure with that sculpt over the mask.

The melted Vader helmet would be nice though.

Yes, very very nice. I am torn on this one. I would prefer a complete Kylo Ren: mask, Driver sculpt, Driver injured sculpt, and Vader mask....naturally, I preordered at SSC, so if I cancel the v1 Ren, I lose the NRD. ARGH!!!!!!

I agree, summer seems relatively quick. I would be more inclined to say around Christmas of 2016 at the earliest.

I agree with you guys there. Sounds effects aren't really a big deal to me. I'm not about to essentially strip down the HT Vader just to insert a few small batteries in the back so he can make breathing sounds. However, it does appeal to some people, so it'd be selfish of me to say HT should stop doing it just because that's what I want. Although if it doesn't really appeal to the majority, then I think the majority takes precedence over the minority. It'd be just as selfish for the minority to say HT should keep doing it because that's what they want, when the majority aren't proponents of it.

This is part of the reason why I pulled the trigger on this TFA Kylo. An additional sculpt would be cool, but I know perfectly well that I'm going to be displaying him with his mask on regardless. The disfigured Vader helmet accessory would also be cool, but if I like it that much, I could always just go on eBay and pick one up when people start parting that particular figure out to display with this version of Kylo. Plus, since Rey severed his lightsaber hilt (if I recall correctly), I don't know for certain if he'll use this same unique lightsaber again. I would be inclined to say he probably will due to its seemingly popularity, but you never know.

This figure of Kylo is more than adequate for me.

I understand those who might want to wait for a more complete figure but for Hot Toys first crack at this new character, they killed it. The melted Vader mask does seem like it should have been a given, and seems like a relatively simple piece to produce, but my only problem I'm having with Kylo is how to pose him. For whatever reason I really like having their saber hilts hanging from their belt, but Kylo's most memorable scenes to me were when he was brandishing his saber. I think I've reposed him a dozen times so far. Guess it's a good problem to have.

Sure, what they gave us is certainly good. But the lack of a Driver head sculpt is insane, given how he spends his most important scenes in the movie without a mask. Yes, I know - they released the figure early and may not have had all the necessary info/images, etc etc, and so on. I'm still frustrated as all *%$$. But there are a few sculptors working on a Kylo Ren head, so that's at least something.

You do know why there is no head sculpt, right? Kylo Ren 2.0/DX. Has nothing to do with it coming out early. Has everything to do with double dipping.

Possibly. Hopefully! I never know, with Hot Toys. Time will tell...

But if that's the case, I hope it doesn't take nearly an entire year for v2 to come out.

Star Wars is too popular. Ill bet you there will be AT LEAST 2 of every character. There will be 3 of some of them. Hot Toys did 4 Jokers from Dark Knight I think, because its a popular character. Anything popular they are at the very minimum, double dipping, and who can blame them? People are willing to buy it, and Im pretty sure they like money. Hehe

Dang. Was it 4 total?

It would be nice if they were to release two versions within a relatively short timespan of one another. Better yet, a double pack (kinda like the Stealth and Civilian Steve pack) would have been awesome, especially since these Star Wars films are just gonna keep on coming pretty darn fast.

Yeah I think they did the first with the ugly head sculpt, then bank robber joker, then joker 2.0, then bank robber 2.0. Theyre going to go nuts with Rey and Kylo.

Kylo DX will have the mask and the Adam Driver sculpt, maybe the melted vader mask. Kylo 2.0 will have battle damaged Kylo with the slash across his face. You know its going to happen. Hehe. Its a gold mine for them so theyre definitely jumping into it.

My sentiments as well.

For myself, as I previously mentioned, I know perfectly well that even with a Driver sculpt, I'm more than likely going to be posing him with his mask on in full costume. That being the case, this version is more than adequate for me. If any future renditions come with an additional accessory I like, such as a disfigured Vader mask, I'll just pick that up once people start parting out that particular figure and display it with this figure.

Surprisingly, I'm also coming to like the look of the lightsaber hilts on their belts as opposed to wielding them. You would think the latter would be the obvious choice, but I'm finding not so much the case.

I think I'm definitely going to be posing my Kylo based on the scene of him freezing the laser blast in mid-air with the force.
