Have a look what Tee-Kay wrote above.

I'm also thinking it probably wouldn't be that hard to integrate a very thin piece of wire in the front of the hood to get a non-rounded look like in that Empire Mag pic. Same thin wire under the shawl could help it fly out a bit and look a bit more dynamic than just hanging limp.

Has anyone ever applied wire ? I guess under the shawl it could be kept in place with a little glue. In the hood, perhaps there is a seam which it could go in ??

Will need to think about that.

Mine also looked like yours SilverStar, where the hood won't turn with the head. I snipped the threads on the sides, and I believe I cut them by exposing them in between the hood and scarf. If you pull them apart a little you can see them. It definitely helps with dynamic, head turned poses.

Hoody, do you mean a wire in the hood itself? If so, I believe there is a wire in there already. I'm not home to check it now, but you can bend it and pose it pretty much how you like. Unless you're talking about the shawl/scarf part. Like neb said, a wire around the bottom in the back would be cool for poses.

It's the threads on the bottom corners of the hood in the front that you're referring to, correct? Is it just those two that you need to snip and can you simply just use scissors, or is something more precise recommended?

So I went ahead today and snipped the threads holding the hood down to the shawl on each side. I never did it before because I didn't have it in a pose that called for it, but even if I didn't, I think I'd still have done it anyway knowing what I know now.

The hood has a bit more mobility and you're able to shape the edge of it much better to make it look like it has more of a natural drape around the sculpt as opposed to a perfectly rounded arc. Even without wire, I think you can shape it pretty well to resemble that Empire Mag pic:

Looks awesome! Now we just need custom made shawls with wires in the back... lol

Nice SilverStar! Yep that's just what I did right there. I left the thread in the back for now, but I might end up cutting that one too.

Indeed those side threads are the ones that were really necessary. I've seen some people's pics where the unaltered hood looks pretty good, but for folks like us where the hood is too tight, the side threads need to be cut.

Yeah QGF, your lightsaber enhancements are always cool! What app is that?

Nice Silverstar !! I'll need to have a look at mine now.

Would also love to know what App QGF used for the lightsaber effect.

Wanted to see Episode 8 before buying a Kylo Ren, but i got the first one for 100$ CAD (broken zip). I guess i'll just find the new head somewhere eventually.

I didn't know how to tell my custom figure that his services were no longer required.

Had the dreaded zipper issue. Mine came off and there is no way to put that sucker back on. Luckily my wife can sew. She just sewed it up. If I ever want to change the arm out (who would want the non lightsaber arm anyway?), she said to just let her know, she'll remove the stitching and re-stitch it. Yeah...she's a keeper!!!!

I was going to sell it before the zipper issue in anticipation of the Last Jedi Kylo but the zipper issue made me cancel the listing and now seeing the last jedi version I like this version better anyway

Never had an issue with mine. Luckily, I just don't care enough about the light up saber arms with any of the figures that warranted having to mess with the zipper on this one.

Picked up this guy from another board member (Darthrazz!) and got to work making some modifications for a looks like TLJ Kylo. Found some really nice thin fabric at Wally World and here's what I've got. Sorry for the different lights in each pic. Couldn't find my white remote this morning lol
