I think Kylo is as much a Sith as the First Order is the Empire.

They're all wannabees.

Well we were told a lot of the First Order have a connection to the former Empire and that they are basically a branch of the empire that went off to hide to rebuild numbers.

Kylo isn't a Sith, I think maybe he would like to be, but from everything we know about him so far is that he's a generation removed from anyone that actually knew about Sith/Jedi traditions and techniques/abilities. This is why he has a weird, makeshift sabre, he's had to learn on his own. People may have spoilers or more information from other sources, but that's all I know about him so far as a spoiler-free (unspoiled?) person.

I have read that the First Order is, in fact, a "remnant" of the old Empire, and has been off in their little corner of the galaxy, being super evil and plotting a comeback.

Perhaps he'll find a Sith holocron and gain proper instruction. He is supposedly obsessed with Sith artifacts. Also, I've seen a rumor that Kylo does indeed have a master. Whoever van Sydow is playing. It's a good assumption as of now.

My prediction is that he is introduced to the rule of 2 and kills the Knights of Ren in a quest for greater power. I'm basing that on nothing but it would be cool to see 1 v 6 and Kylo winning.

I think the journey to becoming a Sith is more likely. Star Wars has always been about the journey and growth of characters.

Definitely! :rock :rock :rock

His master is Supreme Leader Snoke supposedly. Snoke is performed and voiced by Andy Serkis in mo-cap. He is the one narrating the first teaser trailer that came out.

JJ Abrams Spills Details On Kylo Ren | Movie News | Empire

"Kylo Ren is not a Sith," confirms JJ Abrams in the new issue of Empire. "He works under Supreme Leader Snoke, who is a powerful figure on the Dark Side of the Force.”

Want to preorder this guy so bad, but just can't without seeing the movie first.

Yeah about those Topps cards...they list r2-d2 as Jedi.

Saying Kylo is not Sith and that the Sith are gone and then making him a Sith isn't misdirection, it's lying.

You realize Abrams blatantly said Khan wouldn't be in Star Trek Into Darkness, right? He even had the cast lie for him to keep people from learning of his involvement in the film.

J.J. loves misdirection, or lying. Semantics.

Oh yeah we haven't seen Snoke yet. We really aren't going to until the movie drops. I have a feeling I'm going straight Antagonists for this line. Kylo, Snoke, Phasma, and Hux are at the top of the list so far.

And Kylo may not be a Sith (yet), but he will be. Nice try JJ.

i am hoping Episode 8 will include Palpatine in "force ghost mode"... providing guidance like Obi Wan did (from beyond) to Luke.

I doubt a licensed card game would be so inaccurate. Also, if it were mistaken about Kylo (doubtful) it wouldn't also epically miss the mark by listing Rey as a Jedi and Finn as a not-Force-sensitive character when every poster and the last trailer have him wielding Anakin's blue lightsaber.

This is clearly a case of a product exposing plot points in the film that Abrams tried hard to conceal.

Like Finn wielding a lightsaber and Rey a staff, "Kylo is not a Sith." is just another Abrams bit of misdirection.

Have you seen the card game at the store? I've seen it at Kmart. It's a cheap little box like you'd find a pack of Go Fish cards in. It's not a card game on the level as say, something FFG would publish. It's equally conceivable to me that they just put the characters in broad categories for what is essentially an economical children's game. Though the most important revelation from those cards and the only thing we can most likely confirm is that
Finn is most definitely not the force sensitive character in the movie, nor is his destiny to become a force user/Jedi.

See, its that spoiler that gives the Kylo being a Sith bit such validity. If the cards had listed Finn as a Jedi then I would consider the card game just being vague but the fact that it points out he's not force-sensitive at all and confirmed Rey is the Jedi before Trailer III make the cards certifiable.

Pretty sure the Sith don't have force ghosts. The only path to retaining consciousness after death is through overcoming the trials of your personal darkness and embracing love. Palpatine didn't love spit.

:rock Villains!

Yupppp! Money is tight meaning no room for 3 versions of Finn and the old folks with their rockers :lol

JJ has also stated that he understands lying about Khan was a mistake, and the he wouldn't pull anything like that for a big film again. Also, this is ultimately Disney and Kennedy's show and they're not just going to let JJ, or anyone, just make up *****. Anyway, it's pretty clear Kylo is not a Sith just based on the little info we have at this point. He isn't a Darth and doesn't even know how to build a proper lightsabre. He's a Knight of Ren, we just have to wait and see what that means. Plus, really, what's the point of lying about it? It would be a non issue if he was a Sith.
