Yes, it pulls out about an inch or so. Front handle tilts down for a grip as well.

Sorry for the blurry top pic...

Now that I just don't know.

Ooo. That's pretty sweet about the extendable stock. I didn't know about that one.

All they had to do was throw in a couple different colored pauldrons (magnetically attached, which is how it should have been done in the first place) and this would be the ultimate DX Stormtrooper. Actually it pretty much is already but you get the idea.

Waiting for figures to get delivered is almost worse than waiting for them to actually get released. Congrats on the get Wor!

Thanks guys!

Here's a spectrum view... site shrinks it down, sorry.

Nice pics Wor. Are you getting anything else from TFA?

Personally I think these troopers, as nice as they look, are the worst engineered trooper figures from any company. The ball jointed ankles begin to wear down over time if left in any extreme poses. On my Squad leader this has become quite apparent as the feet have trouble staying attached. The combination of the lower arm armor and short wrist pegs result in the hands failing off trying to achieve an extreme pose. Of course there is the extreme stiffness without removing the fat suit underneath. There is even fabric slips over the elbows that restrict movements even more so. When compared to the OT troopers, these can't really compare. They are all hard to pose (with or without fat suit removal). The guns are somewhat cheap and the design of the heavy machine gun makes it nearly impossible for the trooper to hold the trigger. Even the stands can not properly keep the figure in place when left in a wide leg pose. Overall, these don't live up to the standards I expected from Hot Toys. Maybe it is just me, but there are a lot of issues with these and questionable engineering choices from Hot Toys.

Planning to get Kylo. I think that will be it... but I'm also considering Rey/BB-8 combo pack.... 2 heroes/2 villains. Price on Rey will decide -- if I can find it for less after its issued.

I understand what you mean about the restrictiveness. I guess I was well prepared for it by the time I got this (my first trooper). He's limited but solid (to me) and I haven't tried a pose that I haven't been able to achieve -- although I don't go for extreme poses in any of my figures. I wish the wrists would articulate a bit more, that's true. I love me my my fattrooper on the shelf. :)

Here's a height compare to the malevolent Lord... very blurry, sorry.

Thanks for sharing Wor-Gar. Great looking figure. Best I've seen of the TFA troopers so far and rather tempting. I've been unsure about getting into anything TFA (have managed to resist so far) but might have to think about sacrificing some rewards points towards this one. Need to have at least one for the collection? :)

Any thoughts on what other trooper to pair this one with? I'm not really interested in Kylo Ren at this stage but I think if I got this one, I'd want another trooper to go with it. The stands might be a problem though as they won't match?

Thanks! Yeah I was sure what TFA trooper (if any) I was going to get but then this one popped up. Actually thought it would sell out fast.

Not sure what trooper would look best with this, really is a personal taste thing: you could go plain trooper and this busy one, or you could go all-black TIE pilot and to contrast against this one, or you could have this be Jakku and go cold-weather with a red-pauldron snowtrooper for variance yet matching backpacks. :)

I'm just going bad guy black-and-white: Kylo and this Jakkutrooper as my single trooper.

My First "First Order" Trooper.... the Jakku Trooper...

First impression -- WOW! Amazing figure. Stiff, but so realistic in hand. Lots of tiny details.

Backpack magnetic is awesome! Binocs -- awesome! Long rifle -- yep, awesome.

He has "rubber feet" -- supposedly his toes bend for action poses -- but they make him a bit wobbly when standing. Can't get a nice flat stance. Ankles do articulate on a ball-joint though so perhaps a wide stance will solve the problem.

Everything is tight, but also limited in movement. Armor is locked in place -- which I like. Head has a great range of movement while still remaining low on the shoulders. The black of the ammo belt is also awesome.

All in all: LOVE this guy. Perhaps because there's no nostalgia OCD attached to him yet. But he's a great trooper with almost all the gear you can get.

He looks stout and heavy, and loaded to kill. And the extra black on the black-and-white really pops!

Great review and shot there.
Yes, I was pretty impressed with the basic FA trooper I got for many of the reasons you mention here with this one...Hot Toys is the perfect company to be producing this generation of clones with their sleek perfect lines and cool shape.

I'll get blasted for this I'm sure, but I'm not the biggest fan of HT's OT trooper...it's just a little too "perfect" if that makes any sense...their exacting approach to this clone absolutely works...with both the basic one and this "Jakku" one.

Looking forward to more shots from you....

Such a beast!! Very nice Wor-Gar.

I do like the "bulked up" look he's got...pretty cool.

Thanks! And I do love that about this particular trooper -- his beasty bulk seems to fit his "tubby" girth well.

I have to ask is the ammo vest easy to remove and put back on?

I haven't done it, but I imagine if you pull the head off you could slip the crossed straps from the back over the neck and then pull the ammo vest down over the arms.

You could then have a regular Stormtrooper, if that's what you're asking. The thought did occur to me as a bonus to get this guy.

Thanks YF! :duff

Yeah, I've really wanted something to enjoy from TFA... but have been focused on all the OT love from HT as that's a once-in-a-lifetime type thing. But I am really loving the new troopers (at least these bulky types) and I'm eager to get a Kylo Ren.
