]It's a Mothership. Every description of that movie you'll find will refer to the ship seen at the beginning of Predator as a "Mothership". The one thing you won't find is it being called a "Scout Ship" and you won't find what shoots off referred to as a "Pod". Sorry.

Predator was the first time we had seen those crafts and no info was provided on them, therefore it was speculation

It was a Mothership that fired off a smaller scout ship similat to the one seen in Predator 2.

More "Mothership like".. like what? The one in AVP!? The one in AVP created with advanced CGI unavailable to the people involved with Predator since it didn't exist and because that movie was already overbudget and behind schedule when Stan Winston stepped in so they couldn't afford it anyway?

They could have used a miniature, or a plasticine or even Lego for all I care.



there is no suggestion in p1 that that craft was a mothership, all it did was deploy a sole pred. whereas in avp we saw the how huge the craft was and how many preds where present. we also saw it deploy a scout ship in Requiem that was very similar in design to the p1 craft.
