Wookster confirmed this many months ago there wont be a remake of this.

I really love this costume - wish I could get one but it's just so expensive now!!
I find it mildly amusing that most of the shots of him make him look very 'stiff', as though collectors are afraid pose him dynamically in case of damaging him!

HAHA yeah baby!

Mine's protected by bullet proof glass, guard dogs and motion sensitive lasers!!!

I know this question has been asked a few times but I was never sure if the proper stuff was ever mentioned. I wanted to know if there is something out there to preserve the suit so that it does not look dryed out like it tends to over time

Keep it away from dust and don't display him out in the open. My Takara looks and feels brand new because of this and so far my HT doesn't have any crap on it.

I wouldn't trust putting anything on it. Who knows what the long term effects could be.

No problem. There might very well be a solvent out there that could keep it "new" and fresh but like I said you'd have to test it to see what it's long term effects will be. Could damage your figure.

Listen to this. I have some old Kenner and Toy Biz figures that I played with for years and the only thing that happened to them was the paint began to chip off. Keep in mind I PLAYED with these. Stretched them, beat them up, everything. Sure they aren't as good as they were when I first got them, but they're still in decent condition.

Best example I have is Wrestling suit Spider-Man from the first Toy Biz movie line. The whole costume is rubber and it came out in what, 2002? I've had it out in the open for years and it STILL holds up well, just a little dusty.

If these mass produced retail items can last for this long I don't see why the HT rubber can't. I have faith. Best thing to do is just take care of it and hope for the best.

Hope that helps.

I display mine "stiff" as well, but it's a very deliberate aesthetic choice on my part.

In "The Dark Knight," the limitations of Batman's original costume are what motivates him to get the new suit. The suit is stiff, rigid, bulky, and heavy. So when I display it, I want to make that very apparent. I pose him near my HT "Dark Knight version" Batman, which I put into a much more dynamic pose, furthering the visual contrast between the two, as the new costume is supposed to be lighter and more mobile.

I also like how in the opening Batman scene in the parking structure, Batman's got his grapnel gun and all his gadgets hanging off his belt and on his leg. It furthers the appearance of extra weight and bulk, as he has all this extra crap weighing him down. (Of course, he has the same stuff on him in the "Dark Knight" costume, but he hides it more behind his cape, so you don't see it as much).

I might mod my OC Batman's belt so that the grapnel gun hangs down and onto his leg - though the DX Batman's belt has an attachment that supposedly will let you do this, so I might just wait for that.

It's really simple to do with a twist tie.

Wow, that worked great! You're right, it really is simple - I found a black twist tie and it blends right in with the suit.

Now all I have to do is figure out how to keep those batarangs on his belt.

The problem with mine is they don't stay on - they barely seem to fit. The holder seems like it's too large, the batarangs too small, and so they just fall right out. All it takes is the slightest movement or shake, and they scatter.

It doesn't help that that cylinder thing on his belt (just behind the Batarang holder) is too close to the batarangs, and that it juts out in such a way as to prevent the innermost batarang from lying flat against the belt. The forward tip of the batarangs (on the forward side of the holder) is fine - the batarangs can lay flat against that side of the belt. But because of the cylinder thing, the back-side of the batarangs are pushed forward a bit (laying against the cylinder), so they're tilted at an angle. When you try and put the second one in, it has to lay against the first batarang, so it too is tilted - making it precariously close to falling out of the holder!

How do you guys do it? Are your belts better? Perhaps the batarang harness is tighter or your batarangs are larger? Or do you guys have the same problem?

Mine has the same problem, it's not just yours. They fall out constantly.

I really hope they DX him,not because everything should be upgraded to MMS DX,but at the time of his release,I honestly didn't even know about Hot Toys.If so,I think it'd be a great figure.

Well I just caved and bought another one. I sold mine about 2 months ago for close to 300 and just bought a brand new one for 300. I just cannot get over how good this looks. This time I am not going to sell lol

I am also planning on trying out one of the DX belts on this guy with the grappling gun on the side once it comes out and if it improves it awesome but if not thats cool too.

It wont be happening. Wookster confirmed months ago they wont be revisiting this figure. Encouraging people to hang onto them because of this.

Wise move. It'll be a legendary piece I'd imagine.

Sadly HT positioned the gun sitting way too high. The tip of the gun handle was in line with the top of the edge of the belt on the real thing. Not that I'm saying it's bad what HT done. Sometimes I think of cowboys and theirs guns the way it's positioned. DRAW! It still looks nice though. I'm really bad for everything precise. :( It drives me batty! :/ Scale, position anything really, like for like.

Yeah, HT's current setup for the holster on the DX is like gun holster for a cowboy or cop or something like that, the way it hung on screen reminded me of lightsabers hanging from Jedi belts in Star Wars.
