I personally still prefer Jaxon’s over Tony’s. I’m not sure if it’s the thick material but I don’t like how the cape bunches up on the shoulders for over the cowl look and the shoulders also look boxy for the drape look. I might be tripping though.

I believe that was from my figure. Glad it arrived safely :)

Not sold on that new Jaxon mouth plate. Hopefully he makes more than just that one expression.
Just in case it was, let me say thank you very much!
I love it and will look after it.
All the best.

I can't remember where this Prot was displayed but look at how smooth the texture is here...even for a BD look. 89 Keaton 3.0 when?

Was the 2.0 body digitally sculpted?

I'm just hazarding a guess here but speaking as someone who uses ZBrush almost daily, I wonder if the artist had used "surface noise" at some stage to recreate that noisy look that we see in the crevices of the suit in that picture.

If that was the case, maybe somewhere along the line it had got applied to the whole sculpture, it's easy enough to do in ZB when you are working with multiple layers, masks and revisions.

Either way it should have been spotted.... doesn't stop me eagerly awaiting the arrival of my order though :)

So $450+ just for Unreal Cowl and Mei Kai’s drape cape.

Around $320 or more for a Hot Toys Batman figure with avocado texture all over the body that can’t be fixed.

Around $750.

Glad I sold the HT figure.

Sad that we’ll probably never get a screen accurate 1989 Batman action figure in 1:6 scale for a long time.

😔

At least, there’s HT Batman Returns, which I think is a lot more screen accurate this time, but I still want 1989.

My avocado texture 1989 Batman 2.0 has been sitting in my office since it arrived from SS. I haven't even opened the box. For Hot Toys to make a 1989 Batman that I don't like is quite an accomplishment. Almost impossible, yet somehow they've done it.
Sell it and throw those funds at Returns 2.0.
It’s a bummer to feel like that’s the only option,
but it’s better than having texture annoy you every time you look at it.
If I feel annoyed by a figure, it has to go.

You really think that 92 Batman will have no problems right? Idk, after this one I know Hot Toys have always the chance to **** that one too.

I’m not saying it won’t, but so far it’s a lot less than the problems that are definitely on the ‘89 2.0.
The 1.0 Returns looks fantastic and what we’re
seeing in promos does as well.
Hopefully the only changes are necessary ones like the hatch, proportions, sers, that sort of thing.

I also got a big discount when I ordered the Returns 2.0 last night, deluxe cheaper than standard so I’m willing to take that risk to own a Keaton Batman, just not willing to own an inaccurate one that requires the cape to cover 90% of it.

You’re better off ordering Returns 2.0 than to order ‘89 2.0 + a $330+ Custom Cowl + $70-100 Custom Cape.

Ironically I might also consider selling the 89 2.0 and just putting the money towards the 92 2.0 instead. Though I have Tony Mei's 89 cape coming in I'll probably use it for returns Bats instead. Besides just going with Returns as the better representation of Burton's Batman (as much as I love 89 Bats) getting the deluxe takes up a lot of space due to the size of the box. We'll see but I definitely feel it's better selling it off then stressing over storage. Plus the suit also having the rough texture does tend to bother me from time to time.

Yeah exactly, I prefer ‘89 as well,
but not at the cost of accuracy.

Bring on the Returns suit
and put this attempt in the past.

At the end of the day we should enjoy each
release we buy, if we cannot it should be cancelled
or find a new home so we can ultimately be at peace.

I’m not going through multiple cowls, picking up the DX09 for the suit, $50 Botox faceplates, just to have a decent version until a better one comes along. Returns will suffice, and once a proper ‘89 comes along, I’ll pick that up. Hot Toys will only get my money once, on the best version of the two.

Someone on FaceBook posted that they removed the wires from the stock 2.0 cape, and this is what that looks like. I think this looks pretty good-- better than any of the custom capes IMO.

Is the 2.0 diorama worth it if I don't plan to use the gargoyle?

I intend to sell the 2.0 figure, and if I use the diorama it will live in a detolf, so the gargoyle will have to stay in the box.

Worth it at that point, or just don't bother?

I think the gargoyle is the No. 1. selling piece of the diorama. The Joker’s hat and coat look great hanging from it.

Without it all I see is an under scaled base that Batman can’t comfortably exist on.
Since the Joker has no cape he fits on it a little better, so if you have that figure it might look good paired with that.

Overall, not worth the space and it would’ve been in a Moducase.

I have this ordered at my LCS and I’m really debating canceling it. It’s not even the texture of the suit, it’s the price and the amount of space it takes up. I’m seriously low on space. I like it and really was looking forward to it, but so many other announcements have cooled me on this.

If I cancel this, I can get out of the 89 Batman game completely and sell my mars 89 versions to pay for other figures.
My one worry is that hot toys will give us a new 89 joker and that will be a must have and I’ll have to buy everything all over again. That is my dilemma.
