Re: Hot Toys Terminator; Salvation-John Connor- it's official (NEW PIC)

Its $139.99 at SS and for the most part the 2 are usually almost identical in price. Oh that and Toys2 will most likely have them about 4 weeks before SS will.

Really??? I'm going to order him from there! I didn't know they were that fast!!

Its a known fact but keep in mind ordering from within the States saves you money on shipping and duty charges because Toys2 is located up here. Sideshow also has the points system too.

I was just thinking about the shipping. I'd save a good $20 on shipping if I got it from SS or Viking Playground. They're cheaper than SS and shipping is only like $8. :D

But they get their stuff from ss so I'd have a longer wait :(

Yeah see thats what I mean, sure they're slower but there are plenty of perks ordering from Sideshow too. Customer service is also the best.

Yeah,I'm torn on who to order from  I guess I'll wait until Viking Playground gets it up for order and price compare. :D

Here's how I see it for U.S. customers.

If you go with Toys2, your order total will be more because of the shipping cost, but you get the item sooner than Sideshow most of the time, sometimes even months earlier.

If you go with SSC, you save a bit, maybe wait longer to get, but get the reward point discount or if you don't use it you earn reward points.

Either company is great for customer service.

I'm weak. I caved in and orded from Sideshow.

Well, one more detail to simplify things.

Toys2 charges a 10% cancellation fee, Sideshow doesn't cost you anything if you have to cancel.

As much as I love Toys2, I only go to them over Sideshow if A) Sideshow doesn't have it, like TDK, or B) It's a hot item for me and I want it as soon as possible.

If for any reason, be it econimic reasons or feelings about the movie when you see it, you forsee you may want to cancel your order, go with Sideshow.

Re: Hot Toys Terminator; Salvation-John Connor- it's official (NEW PIC)

Wait for the exclusive - it WONT be a whole extra head though!!! :lol More so a peice of non-weapon equipment or a peice of a T-600.

Re: Hot Toys Terminator; Salvation-John Connor- it's official (NEW PIC)

Toys2 are my 'go-to' company for the speed with which they get stuff in and then send it out. I've ordered just a few things from Sideshow but find the waiting painful and the multitude of seperate emails they send just a tad frustrating. Things are a bit simpler with Toys2. A receipt and a processing email - then a 'your order has shipped' email. Package arrives always in great condition. Enjoyment is had weeks before other people. If I order from Sideshow by the time I get the figures they're old news to everyone else.

If Sideshow do good exclusives I'll get those such as the undamaged P1 Predator (preferable to the standard one) and since I want 2 P1 preds anyway I'm also getting the ordinary version from Toys2. The wait on Sideshow in that case made bearable. Also in Toys2's favour is not getting charged customs - though perhaps I will on the Tumbler if that thing ever gets released.

I'm not worried about having it before anyone else if it'll save me around $30. I need to hold onto the money I got. :D

What exclusive? Is SS going to do an EX version?! Wouldn't they have put it up for order already?

The trouble is when you see the eyes, something about how they've painted them or photographed how they painted them make him look posessed or something in some of the shots, or almost like the black oil people on the X-Files, for those who follow that show.

Totally. I think that may be what is putting me off so far. The teaser pic darren posted against the white background looked ace.

That's one area where I love Sideshow and am dissappointed with everyone else.

Particularly in current economic times, the ability to know when exactly you'll be charged for something is key, especially when none of these products have definitive release dates you can count on.

I end up relying on other folks getting from Toys2 to gauge if I'll be shipping soon so I can check if I'm covered financially or not.

I love the Sideshow sends several emails along the way so you know, and sometimes there's delays after the intial emails so it helps that they do so many. For instance, I've had products where I get a 20-25 day arrival notice, well over 25 days and still nothing, then I eventually get the processing alert. So we get the 20-25 for a rough estimate and then the processing alert to say it's here. That's very beneficial. I wish all companies did that.

In the most recent Hot Toys newsletter (this morning) it says this is the first sculpt done by their new sculptor: "Weapon X". Good to hear, he did a damn fine job. No offense to Yulli but she was not nailing the Bale face at all.

They also said this is the only Christian Bale head sculpt approved by both Christian and McG.

Agreed, while Yulli is very skilled, sometimes she ends up with a standing tripple instead of a home run. Not sure why, given her skills, but she could not properly capture Bale.

Ive had a Joker, harvey dent and an Ironman from them, there shipping is faster than SSC but their prices can be $30 to $40 dearer combining product and shipping

Ive never had an issue with a HT product, but if I did, I wouldnt want to have bought it from Toys2

Their communication 'with me anyway' is poor

and thats pre-orders I cant imagine what it would be like on a return

SSC has the points (although I didnt realise that you got ponts for HT products with SSC)

and unsurpassed customer service,

They are slower but safer and cheaper

I personally dont need to have a figure 30 days before someone else in the UK, and having used Toys2 and received figures from them before SSC customers in the past . . I can say with experience . . it means diddly squat

Cause UK'ers arent coming round my house to see it in person and if I or they want to see pics of it, They like I, can look at pics posted from Asia and the U.S. / Canada posted 2 weeks before a toys2 customer in the UK gets it !

Getting a figure 4 weeks before someone else at an extra $40 when it already costs $140 - $160, without a customer service safety net as good as SSC seems now . . . . daft

Then again I can always touch myself and rub the figure up and down on my genitals for 30 days with the secure knowledge that UK SSC customers cant do what Im doing, but that experience is over rated, so Ive heard

Well it just goes to show you nobody is perfect, not even Yulli.

Yulli's amazing portfolio and "Weapon X" first attempt being solid HT is in good shape. Our wallets not so much :D

Both Toys2's customer service and return policy are amazing actually, i've sent things back to them on 2 different occations both times recieving the full refund (including the fee to send it back) within the same week.

Not sure where you are getting such a bad vibe.
