I'm pretty sure TS will be a hell of a lot better than T3 was :lol :lol

Re: Hot Toys Terminator: Salvation-John Connor- spec + hi-res pics

do you think that people place a too high expectation of movies than say 10, 15 years ago? Technology has moved on so quickly in the last few years that I think some movies forget about the story and concentrate on special effects. I like a good story in a movie, but I also love all out WOW factor. I've stayed away from watching trailers and as much of the hype and spoilers as a can, so I can go and watch it without prejudice.

Absolutely. Many upcoming filmmakers get too absorbed in the ways they can tell their story and forget about having a really good story and then worry about what tools to use to tell that story.

That's why my hope for this movie rests on Bale's comment about getting involved if there was a story that could work without special effects.

I'm happy to wait and see what the newer revised sculpt will look like. The custom head does look good, but I'm sure that Kojun will blow us all away with his version.

Check that custom head out!, i think it does look better then the Hot Toys sculpt..so far anyway...this look has way more conviction :p.

Hard to judge when it's unpainted. The sculpt can change totally depending on paint. Good example is the Bergholtz Wayne sculpt. Looked fantastic unpainted, but looked awkward painted.

That one was a good sculpt but, its old now and not as good as most Bale sculpts after it i think as it lacks texture and still, we never really did see anyone put a professional-like paint job on that sculpt Andy did either.

I wish we'd get the updated pics for this already :rock I wonder if they still are modding it or if they just are leaving it :dunno

Don't hold your breath for pictures, HT modified their Two-Face, be it only in paint, before the final figure and we never knew until it shipped.

I will have to agree. If the jaw was a hair thicker, this would be even better. Cast that in a translucent skin color resin mix, some light airbrushing and it would look amazing.

But I wouldnt count the updated HT head out just yet. Its going to be good I know it.

Some thoughts about this figure:

EDITED

If you want to ruin everyones enjoyment of the movie please post a big spoiler allert to give people the option.

That was pretty childish, especially the way you went about it!

Man, To bad they did not make the Rocky figure now. They would have made a dead on likeness. The old Rocky figure likeness sucks.

Actually, Hot Toys did acknowledge the subpar quality of Rocky compared to their current stuff and made a Rocky 3.

And this Rocky figure is pure Hot Toys awesomeness

FYI:

Concerning the possibility of there being a kid who ends up being a Terminator for a surprise twist: If so then they ripped off "Screamers" a 1995 Peter Weller movie that has the exact same twist.
