I could see an awful lot of cancellations happening for the other figure if this is true. Mind you, it would be nice to see this one included with the current figure. Given that they've included some nice things with the Godfather figure ?

I don't know, I'd like both costumes, but if I could only have one figure, I'd go for the current costume.
As cool as the tactical costume is, it also seems a lot like any old SWAT gear or something to that effect. The current figure has more a kitbash feel to the costume, sets him apart as more like a future war soldier than just any old soldier we see nowadays.

True.. but we've all seen with the release of the BR Joker (Machine Gun) HT doesn't seem to care about adding accessories with the wrong version of a figure.

Wouldn't make sense though, in theory they should have used this base for the current figure and as far as I know, he just comes on a standard HT base. I can't find any of the Toys Hunters display images, do they show a base, I would think if they had a base like that, it'd be in the photos at the front of this thread to promote it, it's got a lot of work into it.

Well, that's part of their selling the BR to folks wanting the regular Joker as complete as possible.
Outside of Joker, I can't think of them including erroneous things with figures, ommitting, but not the wrong items.

Borg Predator. Basically every accessory he came with was wrong. Now you could argue HT did that so that the figure wouldn't be light on accessories but it still doesn't change the fact that they included "wrong" items with the figure.
I mean you never know, maybe HT will release this second version (same headsculpt) with the HK416 and that dio-base.
If I remember correctly, the Godfather figure at Toy Hunters wasn't originally displayed with the base either, just the figure and chair. I still don't think the base is being used either.

My dream would be to be the main photographer that does all the cool scenic shots of Hot Toys that get published in that magazine we see after the initial HT pics come out.
