Re: Hot Toys - Infinity War - War Machine (?)

Why are we even talking about Howard? Nobody cares anymore. That was a looooong time ago. Cheadle IS AN EASILY REPLACEABLE war machine.

Fixed it for ya. :lol Seriously though, Cheadle is a fine enough actor but he just doesn't look the part, simple as that. If you said he was going to be replaced with a different actor for Phase 4 and beyond I'm sure we wouldn't have Marvel fans rioting the streets. The same cannot be said for the others. They knocked it out of the park with RDJ, C. Evans, C. Pratt, C. Hemsworth, ScarJo, etc. It was very early in the MCU and I'm sure there weren't hundreds of auditions for a black man in a superhero movie in 2008-9, especially when Howard dropped out because he wanted RDJ money. Had they known how gigantic the MCU would be become, Cheadle would not have the part. Guaranteed. That's my take on it. If you love Cheadle, that's awesome, you have who you want.

Any idea when the figure will drop?

Your guess is as good as ours. Could be Friday, could be next week, could be next month, or it could be never(least likely option).

I honsetly don't care. Emma Stone could be War Machine and i would not lose sleep over it. i just don't understand the big deal over Howard, he isnt anything special. The 1st Iron Man movie is still my favorite but i don't miss Howard at all.

God the anticipation is killing me!
Movie comes out already and no info on a release?

Re: Hot Toys - Infinity War - War Machine (?)

Very very few figures get announced officially before a film. Of the 500-600 unique figure releases hot toys has done maybe 15-20 where announced before the film and under 50 even teased before the film.

Ah ok
First Hot Toy figure I’m gunna buy so I’m super impatient haha

Any idea how long the other war machines were announced after the movie release?

Re: Hot Toys - Infinity War - War Machine (?)

It was fairly close with AoU, CW.

The mk3 from civil war was announced pretty early on, but it was heavily featured in the promotional stuff for the film. And even then the figure was significantly changed because parts where different (baton) in the final film, or parts where added that had been left of pre release marketing (all the weapons). The Mk2 was announced early and if memory serves it didn’t even end up in the film. Given that record I’m not surprised hot toys would wait till the film was out.

Cannot wait to see this. I am not a War Machine fan, but after seeing IW I am WAY more interested. This could be the sneaky popular figure.

Re: Hot Toys - Infinity War - War Machine (?)

He was pretty cool in the movie, I agree.

Re: Hot Toys - Infinity War - War Machine (?)

Nah, the chest is a totally different design. Even leaving the new lights aside, it's more angular than the Mark III.

The helmet's the only thing that's the same. The back-mounted weapons alone give the Mark IV a completely different silhouette.

I really like my IM2 version. I'm just a sucker for a big arse minigun on the shoulder. Not a fan of the little pew pew gun.

God damn War Machine's new armor is sick
Can't wait till that figure

Dude was catching bodies all over that Wakandan battlefield. Other than maybe Thor, I would not be surprised at all if he racked up the highest kill count.
