I know what you mean. I can relate.
I was like that with MoS. Being a staunch Superman fan, I was really excited for the film. Heck, even before the film was even announced, if one were to ask me how I felt that Superman needed to be approached in today's world, it actually was just about identical to what they actually indeed did with MoS. That being the case, I was excited because it almost felt like my same idea was being made. As the film got closer and the critics weren't giving it favorable initial reviews, I was getting more and more anxious and concerned because I essentially wanted to read that it was the best thing since sliced bread, so to speak.
On the day I was to see the film, I was telling the person I was going with about all the negative reviews it seemed to be garnering thus far and they responded by essentially saying to not worry what others say; all that matters is if it's good to YOU or not. Went and saw the film for myself with an open mind, not worrying about what any critics had said up until that point and utterly loved it, and liked it even more with each subsequent viewing. I couldn't fathom as to what movie they saw because I personally felt like I saw something completely different than what they wrote about.
So the point is not to form an opinion about a film based on the opinions of other people who have seen it, because that's all it is; their opinion. Go in with an open mind and form your own opinion based on what YOU saw. Their opinion is no more valid than yours and yours is no more valid than theirs. As long as it was good to you, that's all that should matter.
