Look at it like this: When the Cop Joker was first announced it was 1 head, 1 body, 1 outfit, 1 set of hands and 1 accesory (Rifle). And it was listed at $149.99 (DCD). And a lot of people were willing to buy it. Then it was changed to the first of the new DX series from HT and it got an extra, updated v1 Joker. Full outfit + upgrades (suspenders, better vest, better coat, better shoes, better tie, better overall design) brand new clown head with PERS, and all the original accessories + more (knife, cards, gun with extended clip, grenade rig) and the price only increased $30 (DCD) from $149.99 to $179.99.

No doubt A LOT of people (myself included) would've gladly paid $149.99 for just the Clown Joker stuff. So if you wanna flip that let's say all the Cop Joker stuff is the bonus. Yes the head has no PERS. Yes it's light overall on accessories (only 1 set of hands and only the rifle) but as a bonus that HT didn't have to include in order to sell these it's pretty damn sweet. Show me another figure on par with the Cop Joker that only costs $30.

Oh, I can live with that. I'm just saying I would have paid $230 for both PERS head.

Maybe they were trying to go for fabric quality as much as color, maybe it really is from the same fabric as the prop, but on a figure, the coloration doesn't appear to come out the same. It really should always be quality of the figure first and foremost and if some authenticy of things is lost to get that, oh well. I'd rather a soft fabric like v1 but right color than the right texture and wrong color. It's puzzling too when a figure like John Connor comes out looking dead on to the movie and then you get things like this coat and Jack Sparrow's coat.

Nah it can't be, because there is that Nicholson figure around from YEARS ago that has the right color purple suede, and i made a joke when i saw it, about them getting it right then, and HT still get it wrong in 2009 A couple of things i noticed from those pics, YES, you're right Snake, i get what you mean about the button, it's not in line with what it should be, whereas on the proto shot, it's perfect! Shirt and tie make the v1 just look absolutely dreadful, and i didn't realise the vest was newer too. Damn, more stuff to rebuy for v1 i think
EDIT, i gotta say, after looking at these, and those ^ (cheers devil btw) coat color is REALLY starting to scare me. I mean, it's navy blue looking, and nearly matches the cop uniform in that shot ^ Maybe i'm just being pedantic, maybe i'll get a good one, or maybe there's no problem at all, but officially, i'm notably edgy.
How bloody hard is it to make a coat this solid purple color HT?! And a right color undercoat. Not that there's any point complaining now lol, just venting is all lol. photochop

If anyone is looking to sell their overcoat when their Joker arrives, I'd be willing to buy it for a reasonable price ^_^ Odds are against me anyone will though..

Well I'm thinking of purchasing another set of clothes from the DX Joker, to make an interrogation room Joker - so I wouldn't need the overcoat. Maybe we might be able to work something out where you pay for the overcoat and I pay for the rest of the clothes?

We'll see, once this stuff becomes more available and is parted out...

I was planning on picking a few parts from the figure up but after seeing that amazing box and the whole layout of this I will be trying to get the whole thing.

I think the overcoat is just the right color, under lighting conditions the coat appears dark in yellow light bulbs, but in white bulbs the coat would show it's full color like in the studio shots.

Is the grenade holder removable from the coat, and does it have 4 coat tails?

I don't think it's removeable. But maybe it is and all the people so far who've done comparison shots like this:

Just didn't bother to remove it!? And you can also see the answer to your second question in that pic. No 4 tails.

Haha i'll have to trademark it now and get royalties Sounds good though huh? Throw it in the back of the detolf and away you go.
As for the grenade coat holder thingomabob, i did a rough translation on one of the toyworld threads, and from what i gathered, the bloke was saying it was removable, but was fiddly to play around with, because he had stubby fingers Or maybe he meant putting the grenades into that holder thing? Who knows, not me that's for sure lol

the cop hat was starting to bug me at first but you can tell by comparing some of the in-hand shots with the promos that the top of the cap shouldn't point up like that. it should be pushed down so that the top of the hat is almost completely flat, and a lot of these shots are of unfutzed hats. you can tell from the cop pics above that its a bit more flattened and reduces the appearance of it being too large. im actually more excited about getting cop joker at this point, something about that look always seemed kind of disturbing/macabre to me.

I'd really like to see a repainted cop head, i was going to say that before. I reckon there is still more likeness to be found in there, by a completely custom pair of painting hands
