I personally find it just as annoying that we have all these self appointed "defenders of the board" that somehow think they have a right to police or tell someone else to stop posting whatever the hell they damn well please. If you don't like what someone is saying, here's an idea, skip over it, use the board function to put someone on ignore, but this idea of internet babysitting and board policing is just as absurd as the actual constant ^^^^^ing. Say what you want within the rules and get over it and literally skip over it if you don't like it. Enough with the mommy/daddy bull^^^^.

Dude, it was a joke. Lighten up. Who told anyone to stop posting? Nobody's babysitting, mommy/daddying, or proclaiming themselves the defenders of anything. Relax.

No need to go "Eugene Debs" over this -- free speech lives [its always nice to throw in an arcane reference to a 115-year-old Supreme Court case to confuse people].

He has a point though, this thread may be jokes or whatever, but this board does seem to be full of self-appointed moderators who feel the need to ride people the second a thread doesn't go the way they want it to and it gets old. It sucks to read some of the "crap" sometimes, but that's the nature of conversation and as long as people are being civil, you can't stop them from commenting yay or nay about things. There needs to be more civility around here on opinions, but too often there's this "think like me or get the hell out" attitude and that's when threads get out of hand. Don't have to like people's opinions or what they have to say, but better to just ignore it and work around it than to draw attention to it.

Fair enough ... but you also can't stop people from commenting "yay or nay" on people's "yay or nay" comments. Seems to be the nature of the beast. Everyone has the right to their opinions, and everyone has the right to their opinions of other people's opinions.

Which is fine, and not what I'm talking about. You can go back a few pages and read post after post about how people need to quit there complaining and complainers need to quit posting in here, and even goes as far as saying they shouldn't even be buying the figure. It's absurd.

I think it's pretty obvious who this is directed towards. At least I don't have an issue telling the 2 year olds the way it is. Point taken. Enjoy your toys cuz we all know this will sell out 10 times over.

Sticks and stones, man. Who cares? I don't see why anyone would get fussy because someone said they shouldn't be buying an action figure. Que sera sera.

and everyone has the right to their opinions of other people's opinions.

Indeed, but it's how people react to those opinions and using civility.

People have a right to be bothered if people are very negative on a piece and disagree with that opinion, but it's no one's right to treat people of differing opinons like they don't belong in an area. Everyone has the right to post their opinions wherever.

It'd be dull if everyone was just in complete agreement on everything. People are going to have different opinons than you, that's life, that's what phones, letters, emails, PMs and things like that exist for, when you find people that share your opinion, you can just talk to them, but on a public site like this with as many people here that are members, opposing opinions are unavoidable.

I'm not sure I follow a point, if any, in your post. My comments are directed at whoever is doing it. I don't write down names to put members in detention but it's not hard when you're always in a thread to read the comments and remember them especially when they're so plentiful. So if you think I'm directing it at you and you're one of the ones always doing it, then yeah, I guess you'd be one of the ones it's directed at.

Fundamentally, I don't disagree with you. Life's too short to get in a tizzy because of the color of a coat, the paint job on a toy, or over other people's complaints about a toy that you adore.

If you like it, buy it. If not, don't. If you have complaints, post them. If you think the complaints are stupid, say so. But, for emotions to run high on either side is ridiculous. It is, after all, plastic and fabric.

So monitoring what YOU think is negative in a thread filled with opinions is somehow justified? Not sure you have a point either.

Apparently you don't follow points to well, or you didn't read my other posts about the matter. I'm not saying either side should stop posting what they want. My point was that people can post whatever the hell they want, but that it is just as annoying to read all the babysitting posts as it is to read the negative posts. People can post what they want, the idea that someone tells them they can't have an opinion or shouldn't even be able to buy the figure because of an opnion is absurd.

As is the idea that anyone would take such assertions seriously. Is anyone here heartbroken or even genuinely offended because someone told them on an internet forum that they shouldn't be able to buy a toy? Any actual offense to such a statement can be traced as much to oversensitivity as it can to obnoxiousness.

Wofford is teh awesome. :naughty

Really don't want to wade into all this disagreement.

Perhaps we should have "Hot Toys - MMS DX 01- The Dark Knight - The Joker spec and pics" be for just that, and a separate thread for discussion. That way we won't have to wade through pages of arguing while looking for new pics and info. Certainly not a new idea, but I thought I'd throw it out there.
