I'd get a new head man. Contact HT. You paid good money for your collectible. I only repaint stuff when it's optional, or is long past the time to recieve a replacement.

Nah, I'm not that sure, that you'll get a brand-new head! When I've send my John Connor head to them, they only repainted the color-error. I didn't get a new head, just a "re-paint".

apparently not. $200.00 is not reasonable, so like i said......its already begun. also, just because something is or is not being distributed through DCD does not mean it will or wont become super rare. example: The SDCC Green Lanterns full set sell for well over $450.00 and yet they are distributed through DCD.

So being distributed via DCD did not prevent them from becoming super rare.........there production run vs their exclusive nature is what made them rare. Also they DID do a different version of the BB suit......its call the Dark Knight suit.....(well you did say different).

Lastly HT could pull the plug on production at any moment......or maybr they never will. my point was simply to point out price hikes that have started and to help any one who's on the fence about the fig to make up their mind before it cost them a bigger arm and leg.

Sorry, but totally different situations. Being distributed by DCD DOES make a huge difference in this case. This is not a super limited run figure...it is quite ridiculous to compare it to a SDCC exclusive...I don't think I need to explain why. Price hikes happen all the time, it in no way is a reflection of how rare a figure will turn out to be. This is Hot Toys' first DX figure, so retailers seem to be seeing what they can get for it. Again, the reason why the OC Batman is so rare is because it is no longer being produced, and was only available in Asia and not distributed by DCD. By not being distributed by DCD, that automatically cuts out a huge number of people who could have gotten it. I have the OC Batman, got it from Hong Kong, and there were no price hikes when I got mine. The reason they became rare is because people who assumed that DCD would distribute this figure were out of luck...they were gone. $200 may be unreasonable to you, but for a figure that retails for about $170...not much of a hike. Retailers in the US will stock up because of DCD and Diamond and there will be enough. I can go to my LCS and pick this up...people could not do this with the OC Batman.

On topic, got my DX Joker today from Redford! It is amazing!

To those of you who've ordered from BBTS:

Did you actually get a shipping notice with tracking info, etc.?
My order just says "PAID" and "waiting to enter the warehouse." which I'm guessing means they don't quite have it in hand yet...

yes Penny this is quite normal. It may take a day or two for the item to get packaged and shipped. on rare occasion BBTS has gotten backed up in their warehouse and it took about 3 days for the thing to ship but fret not I'm sure BBTS know we want them ASAP!

I'll post the second I confirm my tracking :D

:(

That was what mine looked like exactly. I just dry brushed the paint on that spot to get the effect HT did. I just didn't want to wait for the replacement, but if you have more patience, I would get it replaced.

HOLY S***!!! Looks like I might be right about my take on the DX Joker after all. just that fast sence my last post about DX Joker price increase the damn thing jumped another $50.00 at Toy Wiz

https://www.toywiz.com/hottoysjokerpolicemanfigure.html

ebay sellers are also starting to pass the $200 mark. I hope every one got a good deal or they are gonna get screwed.

Give it a month. When the initial wave of the HK shipment hit a little while back, they went for over $250. That's what I paid for mine. They're hitting en masse, people are going crazy because it's finally available from US sellers, and they're jumping on the high prices to get it quick. Sellers are taking advantage of that.

It's not nearly as limited as the TDK OC Batman because of the U.S. distribution, as previously stated, which you will probably misunderstand again. It's just people being excited, being unwilling to wait, and sellers taking advantage of that and jacking up the price. I highly doubt it will ever become rare.

It's been a day since I received my Joker and I can't stop staring at him. I'll take some pics today.

I had some problems with the base, the nameplate came out when getting the base out of the plastic cover. I had to stick it again with super glue. Also, I can't make the leds point to the middle of the base, I mean pointing exactly to the figure, they have some kind of parallell system, is that normal?

1ST, I have'nt "misunderstood" a thing. Any thing has the capability of becoming rare in time (which is the point that I'd say YOU have misunderstood).

And 2nd you could be very right about the hype thing. but at this rate people might end up having to wait till the DX Joker ends up on the secondary market like ebay later this winter or early spring.

You misunderstood the entire concept of DCD distributing a figure and not distributing a figure. Also, you had no idea that they even made a second OC Batman figure. The only way this will become "rare" is if all but 100 people burn theirs, thus leaving the supply well below the demand. If people hadn't have thrown away or worn out their copies of Detective Comics #27, it wouldn't be rare at all. When you can get 4 pages of in-stock results by searching Ebay, no, something isn't rare. And won't be.

Remember the crazy hype for the Movie Masters Joker figure for a month or two after release? I sold one for $60. Now it's at Big Lots for $5.

this time let it marinate.

slogan bottons from election 80 years ago were a penny a pound when first made. yet many to day sell for thousands of dollars. like i said any thing has the ability to become rare. so excuse me if my concept of time extends past what I'll be doing next week.
