I love my stock DX Joker

love your avatar inked! :rock

You're not alone. My Joker is 100% unmodified. As cool as the custom head sculpts are, I am still blown away by the look of the stock head.

i will find out how great this head is in about a week and a half :rock thanks for convincing me to go for it :hi5:
oh yea, did you get my PM btw bud? sometimes for some reason ppl don't receive them.

Mine is stock and I am content. Only thing I'd like is some real hair by monkeyrobotmaster and a mouth repaint

sooo bascially it won't be stock anymore therefore you hate your stock head and want a modded one!
:rotfl
j/k bud :p I want the monkey hair mod too :lol i think it's the best hair mod for any 1/6 joker IMO at least for the mob scene :D

It seems you caught me red handed

Yes the real hair will look great, but even without it, it still looks great

^^ love those old looneytoons man! miss the days when those came on

and yea I want the hair mod, but since I'm not changing anything on my DX batman, I don't think I'd end up sending him out for the hair mod. just to keep it as stock as possible

How can anyone not love this?

Sorry for the crappy phone pic

Not so bad as this, your shot, really... Far from it! :clap
Ho of course, we see your reflection in the window, but other than that, for a shot from a cellphone, is a success: good framing and nice light, not to mention the textures... No, really: I like very much! :rock
Obviously, this is not a head from BobbyC (what a masterpiece! :ccheerlea), but I'm the first to love this figurine. :D

Does anyone other than me display or even have an unmodded Joker figure anymore? After all the hype about yullis excellent sculpts it seems like all you see nowadays is custom headsculpts. Not that these aren't great, I'm just wondering did I miss a meeting that decided Yulli's sculpt was no longer acceptable.

Wouldn't have it any other way. I'm not into customs, they just don't feel legit to me. It's really hard for me to describe without sounding harsh. Now I don't mean paper clips in the collars (T-800), swapping parts/heads or taking off accessories that don't belong (Bank Robber Joker), but it just doesn't feel right modifying a figure or using heads made from scratch, even if they're really, really good. It just feels dirty.

a-dev, I still love them. The only thing thats custom on mine are the shirt and ties with some tweaked weathering on the shoes. Oh and a redone v1 to make good use of it. Thats as far as it goes though.

So striving for more accuracy and realism feels dirty? :dunno

I agree with DiFabio to some extent. Like I strive for accuracy, i.e. my own custom Joker. But to me, my Joker just doesn't look right next to DX Bats as in you can tell the they aren't made the same. I'd like there to be some kind of unison between my figures, like my SS LOTR and SW shelves. Like both DX Bats and DX Joker have their flaws in that neither are 100% accurate out of the box. But they both look right next to one another on the shelf IMO due to the fact they both have flaws.

But like some have more accurate shirts, ties, dyed jacket/weathered overcoat with accurate lining, and of course BobbyC's HS or Adam's HS and there's nothing wrong with that. as they look freaking awesome in every imaginable way.

To me, though, the more Joker gets customized, the more it looks out of place on the shelf. It's like having a Medi Bats placed next to DX Joker. You know one out does the other easily. That's why I'm trying to piece together a DX Joker :rock plus I just love the PERS system :D
Consider me a sadistically filthy turd then LOL :p

Mine is just the same as HT shipped it. I don't see the need to mod him.

No matter how much you spend or change, they will never look real.

You'll never achieve realism with 1/6 scale. Unless it's a figure of a guy who's actually 12" tall. I mean you can get close, but once you pass a certain point it's just going to be a doll with realllllly expensive parts that look marginally better than what it came with out of the box. No matter how accurate the pattern is, a 1/6 shirt is still going to be a 1/6 shirt. It's still going to look like doll clothes. No matter how accurate or realistic the head sculpt is, it's still going to be sitting on top of a doll body with doll's clothes.

At some point you have to say, "Hey...maybe I should save this money and spend it on things that actually matter."

Yeah but all that is a matter of how much money you are willing and able to spend and how obsessive you are about making your figure(s) as good and close to real looking as you possibly can.

Look at the custom clothing Kato E makes in the custom section - hardly looks like dolls clothing

Until you put it on a doll, then it...looks like doll clothing. To me, at least. The obsession over such small things and the lengths to which people are going to get it is pretty disturbing, not going to lie. The cost of Kato's stuff, the head sculpts, the constant buying/selling/switching of parts to complete the "ULTIMATE 1/6 JOKER OMG" is getting out of hand. Maybe it's because I'm slowly but surely getting out of collecting aside from a few things here and there, I don't know. I just can't believe the lengths people will go to for a 12" figure. You could almost buy a damn car for the money some are spending on one figure when all is said and done.

Or maybe some people need to stop watching TDK every day and get over the Joker fetish. Also stop dressing like him when you take pictures of your figures. That's step one.

One of the funniest and most ridiculous comments I have read on this board

Thanks for making me laugh hard :lol:lol:lol

What is your problem with somebody being happily obsessive about something? How is this effecting you? Why does it bother you so bad? And why do you feel the need to constantly mock somebody that is happy with their obsession?
