:lol:lol:lol

One of the funniest and most ridiculous comments I have read on this board

Thanks for making me laugh hard :lol:lol:lol

Why? Don't you think that's a little harsh? It was just my opinion.

Until you put it on a doll, then it...looks like doll clothing. To me, at least. The obsession over such small things and the lengths to which people are going to get it is pretty disturbing, not going to lie. The cost of Kato's stuff, the head sculpts, the constant buying/selling/switching of parts to complete the "ULTIMATE 1/6 JOKER OMG" is getting out of hand. Maybe it's because I'm slowly but surely getting out of collecting aside from a few things here and there, I don't know. I just can't believe the lengths people will go to for a 12" figure. You could almost buy a damn car for the money some are spending on one figure when all is said and done.

Or maybe some people need to stop watching TDK every day and get over the Joker fetish. Also stop dressing like him when you take pictures of your figures. That's step one.

Yeah, I agree. It's really gotten out of hand. I don't know about that last bit though. I doubt people actually dress up like him while they take pictures.

I just find it funny yet ridiculous to call it dirty for modding something to make it look better :lol:lol:lol

It's not ridiculous and I think you're insulting me by your demeanor.

I think it's funny and ridiculous how far some people are willing to go for movie accuracy in a collectible action figure. Then they end up ruining said figures with heavy modifications, most of which look like crap. I'm all for movie accuracy but at heart these still know their roots as action figures which what's so fun about them.

What company produced your head? Did it have a production number? If it was just some guy that you found on here looking to make a buck by scamming a few members with expensive heads then I don't consider them legit, period. Hence the term "dirty".

I don't care if my next door neighbor can sculpt the best 1/6 portraits in the world, it wouldn't exist as far as I'm concerned.

Modding something to make it look better

Well that depends on someone's point of view. I definitely don't think your dried and caked up Joker head with miniature tree model hair (you know, the ones that go with train dioramas) is better.

That would be a personal preference.

In the end it just comes down to personal opinion and tastes. Do whatever makes you happy I guess, but don't say my views are silly and hilarious, I'm not the one that paid for customs.

Don't you people understand yet that trolls crave attention?

Leave them be and they will soon return to under their bridge.

Come on Snake, who the hell is trolling in here? I don't agree with Teddy but I don't think he's trolling. If you mean me, I'm just defending my feelings. If you mean someone else, I haven't seen any others these last two pages act inappropriately.

Some of you guys just won't let this section of the forums die. I don't mean die as in be forgotten. No, appreciate the films, watch them, have fun collecting your figures, whatever. But it's clear that most of you have run out of things to say so CUSTOMS and minute changes in the flow of things are your only avenues of expression and sadly, excitement.

I don't blame you, I feel the same way when it comes to Batman and the like. Products seem to have ceased, no pictures of the Christopher Reeve Superman have surfaced, the Dark Knight is dead. But you guys don't have to keep defibrillating the topics until they explode.

There's absolutely nothing to talk about. We're just making ____ up. Don't agree with me. Compare the days where we were getting specs and pics galore with figures like Bank Robber Joker, OC Batman, etc to how it is now. "Oh how bout that Medix, oh yeah, dats a pretty cool figure dood. Can't wait to own it."

Now we coin ridiculous terms. Want to buy things that aren't for sale (OH AWSUM CRUSTOM, I MUST OWN IT). Why? Didn't we get enough to satisfy are interests? I guess it will never be enough.

All i am saying DiFabio is personally I couldnt feel more differently about customs than you is all

Take this for instance
Hot toys Scissorhands, I hope and think you will agree this is just a dreadful sculpt

Xenoviper

So what your trying to say is you would not remove that awful awful head from HT and replace it with Xeno's because that would be dirty?

Because the bottom head is not HT's and just made by some artist in his basement that makes him inferior and a rip off merchant is that what your saying?

Does anyone other than me display or even have an unmodded Joker figure anymore? After all the hype about yullis excellent sculpts it seems like all you see nowadays is custom headsculpts. Not that these aren't great, I'm just wondering did I miss a meeting that decided Yulli's sculpt was no longer acceptable.

Mine isn't modified at all and I don't plan on ever changing it. I think it looks great right out of the box.

You'll never achieve realism with 1/6 scale. Unless it's a figure of a guy who's actually 12" tall. I mean you can get close, but once you pass a certain point it's just going to be a doll with realllllly expensive parts that look marginally better than what it came with out of the box. No matter how accurate the pattern is, a 1/6 shirt is still going to be a 1/6 shirt. It's still going to look like doll clothes. No matter how accurate or realistic the head sculpt is, it's still going to be sitting on top of a doll body with doll's clothes.

At some point you have to say, "Hey...maybe I should save this money and spend it on things that actually matter."

:slap uuuuuh this guy again! :cuckoo:

dont tell him about the customs section! :rotfl

i do see his point tho in that sometimes its nice to have the factory 'clean' figure in mint condition and some customs dont match the skill or expertise involved in the process of creating the figure (unsuprisingly).
but at the same time its a hobby at the end of the day and everyone is different. customising some of my figures has really added depth to this hobby for me

oh my what happened here?
This is not just for this hobby but pretty much ... life....
Outside being a hobby this applies heavily to clothing/fashion. Another fiercely debated hobby are cars.
OEM factory originals vs third party. There may or may not be quality difference but in the end it is mostly for looks. Funny thing is most don't even realize that these OEM parts are always third party. e.g. I got my friend to put factory optional Infinity 19" rims on his Acura (without the cap of cause) because OEM parts (for japanese brands) tend to sell for less used and I know these parts were made by a wellknown performance manufacturer whose used parts sell for significantly more. After a lot of research and fitting the end result is beautiful but he has heard an earful about how he whored his ride. Now for German/Italian cars it is even worse as those owners almost never would whore up their rides with anything but originals and happily pay for it!
The problem is not what anyone deems acceptable but the need to impose such views onto each other. And in an attempt to out do each other any reason becomes valid. "IMHO" mostly is a forefront to do it. The right thing to do is praise what you like and keep it to yourself if you don't. It is not easy but the mature thing to do. With the same token present your awesome mod etc but stop hardselling and sometimes no feedback is simply because ppl are trying to be respectfully quiet
BTW all the above is IMHO
:borg:

Complete BS. The idea of censored, skewed viewpoints and conversation in a public forum created for discussion is a joke. If you don't want the truth.. be a hermit and don't speak to anyone. Live in your own little private fantasy land where you and everything you do/have/are involved with is awesome and the best. Because obviously hearing anything that contradicts that will upset you.

How about instead of trying to negate honest opinions, people just toughen up and stop acting like little sensitive *** cry babies when some person on the internet they'll never meet isn't head-over-heels in love with their new little toy?
