Couple questions for you who have dyed your stuff:

Does the dye also color the red lining in the blazer? Not that it would be visible anyway. More of a curiosity than anything else.

Also, with the shirt, the change is more subtle, so I may not even attempt it, but do you end up with spotty coverage leaving it in the dye for such a short amount of time?

Thanks in advance. :)

The liner remains the same color. The material doesn't absorb the dye.
And as for the shirt, I left mine in, stirring for 30-40 seconds and got nice, full coverage. This shot doesn't show much beyond the collar, but you can get a sense of the tone. The blazer took a bit a more work: multiple attempts, different dyes etc...but I'm finally happy with it.

Cool. And your shirt looks very nice. Since I have an extra DX Joker, I don't mind playing around with one set of clothes. I may just try the shirt as well as the coat.

Once I find the courage, and the evening blue dye, I'll give it a shot and post my results. :)

:horror you have an extra! it's just not fair! :(

yea same here! I have an extra blazer and I want to dye my DCD shirt, but haven't gotten the courage to do so yet

LOL! Yeah, for $135 I had to get a second one. He's my favorite HT figure, so I can have two display options at all times. :)

I don't tend to buy extras of characters, especially at these prices, but I must admit I did buy an extra Whiplash to display in plain clothes, and as soon as my LCS gets their stock, I'm buying a second T-1000 so I can use both the regular and motorcycle cop outfits simultaneously.

kinda depends.. when the ver.1 liner was bleached it lost some color... while DX was not phased. The ver.1 did get some of the evening blue, while the DX had none.

Great colour for the jacket Ven.

Thanks!

ahh jeez Commtech...that is so good. Here I am tweaking my DX and I see this...
:drool:rip why do I bother! :lol

Seriously though, congratulations. A true grail piece.

The only thing I'd say is the hair looks real green - no brown tinge at the roots - but that may just be the photo/lighting.

Oh WOW!! Love it!! The hair is so awesome... damn, congrats!

Thank you!
Yeah, I just got the head back from Bobby. I sent it back to him the first time to redo the hair. There was nothing wrong with it the first time, it's just that I had a certain idea of how I wanted the hair. Very professional of him to do this. :yess:

Yeah, in person it's not that green. I'll take pictures in other light conditions later on.

Does anyone else feel like if they start adding hair there gonna wanna add hair to everything?

escalation..

well the dx head is severely lacking with the hair I think. Like just looking at your work with the paint and hair makes that head so much more appealing to me. I use the bank robber head on the dx body. I just like it way better but I still don't have the nerve to touch any hot toys figures with paint brushes.

now having the DX Head, I love it even more than my custom head. the eyes trip me out every time I look real close and can see the iris! :rock

and yes I took many pics :D
