I won't even go into the excessive head shaking I seem to do when I think and see all the money being thrown around on joker related stuff...

I put a BR head on my joker one and was happy. Then they showed DX and I was like whatever ill replace it but don't really care.

I've seen people drop thousands into custom jokers and at the end of the day I gotta be honest, it looks better than the DX joker yes... But not deal breaking better. Nothing that in my opinion is really worth forking out a cent more than the 200 or so the DX cost. That's just me though, obviously Kato is the man and can make anything look better but the way I look at it is, a man of his talent, if I'd want him to improve something it would be something that already sucked. Like sideshow James bond suits or something. Or something totally orginal that cant be cobbled together, like some more period style suits like from the godfather. Not an outfit that was pretty damn good already.

As far as the heads go I still think the bank robber head is as good as I've seen... The bobby c one I dont care for at all and intentional or not the flakyness looks sloppy to me.

I will agree that the Adam ones are awesome and can totally see why guys would like some of the expression variations like the laughing for variety.

But as far as replacing the standard hot toys stuff goes... Well whatever it's not my money but nothing annoys me more than all the interest threads for every Tom ____ and Harry sculptor doing a ledger joker... There's so many things I dont have that is rather see their talent applied to

I agree with this one hundred percent.

The DX is fine for me. The 2.0 needs to blow it out of the water for me to even care to trade up.

...and you saying that yours are better is what, fact? Granted, I could've used a better term than butt-hurt, but you telling people that they're wrong or biased for holding a different opinion, and then stating that Hot Toys' sculpts aren't better as though your word is fact is just ridiculous.

Not really. It's the same way one can factually say an Armani or Valentino suit is of better quality then a suit from Men's Warehouse. The stitching is better, the material is better. You can tell from the craftsmanship of a thing what kind of quality it has. You can tell the degree of quality. The same can be said when comparing the detail of one of Adam's customs to the detail of a HT sculpt, in the paint application, in the realism of the eyes, in the details of the skin and along the features, etc... It's just simply better quality. That's a fact. The same way a blu-ray disc has clearer picture and sound then a DVD or VHS tape.

It's an issue of standards, and using standards to determine a things quality.

Now, if you base quality on a thing being less detailed, being less realistic looking, etc... and you think that's what makes a thing good quality, then yes, you can say that the HT sculpts are "better".

No, it's not. You can say it is all you want, but at the end of the day, it's an opinion. Period. Comparing an Armani to a suit from Men's Warehouse is just as much an opinion as the Joker comparison, I'm a man who prefers Armani and the like, yet one could argue that a Men's Warehouse suit is "better," as it is a good quality suit with a "better" value. I also believe that suits are clearer in terms of defining what's "better" than 1/6th scale sculptures are. I believe that HT's Cop Joker head is better than yours, as when I see both, the likeness, texturing, paint, and expression are better than yours. Again, that is my opinion; you have yours, and I have mine. However, my opinion is no less valid than yours, just because it's different. May I inquire what material your cop joker head is made of?

attention, attention there is a spill in aisle 5 of the DC section, seems the Heath-as-Joker HS debate is raging unabated...

where is that damn 'pop corn' icon when your looking for it:explode:

i really hope that one day all this Joker madness enda. maybe after EB does their 1/4 version and hot toys does there 2.0 and possibly 1/4 version and then the customizers come in and make dozens of new 1/4 joker sculpts to make the 1/4 EB and HT figures "more accurate" it will all and. I'm surprised no one has made an accurate 6" figure sculpt for the movie masters joker :lol

Allright allright can we all agree to disagree on this?

I think everyones put their opinion out there and that's fine, but once this starts going into a back and forth with two sides unwilling to budge it can get out of hand

...movie masters joker...

I can care less about the Joker sculpts, anymore. I just dislike it when people state their opinion as though it's fact; it isn't.

That's my "Frankenjoker". :lol

It's the 12" movie masters head, mostly with parts from the V1 Joker and the Medicom Joker.

I've since taken him apart and stuck the head back on the Mattel body. The 12" Mattel figure is actually very cool right out of the box.

Forgive my newbieness here...but is it confirmed that a Joker DX 2.0 is coming? I can only hope....

Nothing has been confirmed, only some signage that said 2.0 was seen last year... but based on the recent rerelease craze from HT, I'd say it's about 95% eventually going to happen.

Stupid Question but which True Type Body is best for displaying the Cop costume?

Thanks!

Dennis
