I'm not going to say that those flaws don't matter, but honestly how often would you see the socks on your Joker figure or notice the number of coat tails on the jacket rear when the figure is displayed on your shelf?

If they are gonna advertise the DX Joker's costume as screen accurate then they should have corrected it. It not being noticeable is not an excuse. They went ahead and changed the belt. Why not the socks?

If they could get the details of the stand from the actual suit display, why couldn't they see that the suit had 4 coat tails? It like watching the movie and not noticing that the joker had green hair.

I'm not defending them, I just want to keep things in perspective. The socks, the coat tails - they're negligible issues when held up with the more obvious inaccuracies, I.e. The shade/tone of the purple coat and the color of the inner jacket. If there were things I'd want HT to fix, it'd be those. I'm willing to give them a pass on the socks.

Yea, I noticed about the tails long ago.
And I do agree with Darren, if they are gonna advertise the DX Joker's costume as screen accurate then they should have corrected it. Otherwise, they shouldn't advertise it as 'Improved & movie-accurate Joker costume'.
There's lots of things HT should fix on the newly improved costume.
Socks, shirt color, tie color, vest button position, purple coat tails, liner color, suspenders.
I want to post pics about this error, but I'm too lazy right now

Same. I don't even care about the suspenders. :lol
Nice touch but I could care less. Same with the socks. My BR Joker has NO socks, and I don't care. I'm concerned with the head sculpt, Jacket color (inside liner too because you'll see that) and the basic outfit of what you'll see when the figure is displayed. Socks, suspenders, coat tails, etc. doesn't matter to me.

Well some of us care about some details, some of us don't.
So it would be nice if HT can fix ALL the errors, and everyone will be happy :)
There's no point arguing what should they fix and whats not

Yeah I'm disappointed too. I expected the DX figure to bring world peace and cure HIV, but it doesn't do that. HT better fix that.

Wait.. don't get me wrong. I do care about details. Even minor details. But that only applies to things I can see. For instance.. I've yet to see ANYONE complain about the Predator Bio's from HT not being finished on the inside.

Because it's something you'd normally never see. If HT made everything accurate that would be great. So I'm not against it. Sorry if I gave that impression. I'm just saying for instance, I didn't even know the coat had 4 coat tails. Still don't fully believe it, but if it's true, it's something I still don't care about it. Same with the suspenders (found out about those when this figure was announced :lol).

So I care about details.. but only when it's something I can see when the figure is displayed. Details that remain hidden unless you really handle the figure aren't major concerns to me.

Well I care about the suspenders because i'll use them on my interrogation scene joker dio display.. but yeah, I get what you mean about the other details that are not even noticeable, but still, it does make a figure even cooler to own if it has extreme details that you wouldn't notice until inspected carefully.

The thing is, on set the costume department on any movie will make repairs and modifications to an outfit on a daily basis (obviously guided by the continuity department), so depending on what the actor, stand in or stunt double is required to do, the outfit allows for them to look natural.
Therefore the coat the Joker wears when standing talking to someone could be a very different cut to the one he wears when hanging upside down etc. I don't know if this is the case here, but it's not uncommon for practices like this to be employed.

Thanks for the explanation Wookster.
But regarding the coat tails, it definitely shows 4 tails even in the promo shots, so I guess it was 4 during the whole time.

Meh? Does it really make all that difference? Once on your shelf you're hardly gonna be able to tell...im looking at my V1 Joker now and u wudnt even be able to tell if he had 3 tails or 4.

People are also complaining the socks ain't right...unless u lift his trouser leg up everytime u walk by your figure youre never gonna see them lol

Id rather have a purple coat with three tails than HT not provide a coat al all. Id rather have some socks than HT not provide socks at all. Perhaps if the figure dosen't meet your expectations then dont buy it? No ones forcing you to.

The coat tails don't matter to me, but the figure, like any collectible sold, should be made as acurate as possible.

I would think coat tails would be an easy enough fix, just cut up the middle of the third one and stitch it sealed.

YES!
Geez, I just said this before.
No point arguing about what HT should fix or not.
We have our own complain.

lol well if all you have to worry about is this then I feel sorry for you. Just move on....there are far worse things in the world than whether Hot Toys give him 3 tails or 4

While getting hung up on little details can seem pointless sometimes, and I agree there's more important stuff to worry about in life, A) sometimes it's easy to get so caught up in our distractions from the real important stuff (I'd rather worry how many tails Joker's coat has than hear how much swine flu's spreading), and B) Hot Toys has indicated that they are listening to feedback and applying it to this figure, how far, who knows, but if ever there is a time to speak up and point out, it is now when it can improve the piece, once the thing ships and it's game over, then there comes a point where there's no sense dwelling on it, especially with this figure, this is the second visit to purple costume Joker, if they don't fix it on this one it's never going to happen.
