Don't agree.

Better than the DX01, better than the Bank Robber, better than the Cop Joker, better than the laughing sculpt this comes with, better than BobbyC's, and better than any of Adam's.

Just looking at laughing sculpts, I tend to think that Adam's is better than this one. So again, I definitely think the PERS sculpt is the better of the two.

I am sorry I will have disagree, Maglor I love Hot Toys 2.0 one but do you really think it is better than this?

I mean I can not see anything wrong with Adam's but Hot Toys one IMO only looks good on certain angles just something is still off about it IMO.

Perhaps you can tell me why Hot Toys is better. :dunno

As for the laughing sculpts, I am not sure which one is better Adam or Hot Toys, they are both good IMO.. :dunno

(...) Surely the DX11 will also come in a plastic blister and not in a foam packaging as the DX01 did, which will cause some nice shiny areas at the figures plastic parts making it look sweaty due to abrasion on the transport... Just like my first Kevin Flynn figure did
:gah:

By the way, does anybody already know something about the packaging?

By the way, does anybody already know something about the packaging?

You have that the other way around. The plastic blister is what causes the shinny foreheads because it presses against the sculpt. That is why so many Superman figures had shiny foreheads.

ALL DX's come in a foam packaging box. I dont know where you got the idea that it will be in a plastic blister, but its wrong. :goodpost:

Yes Reznikk is right.

I don't think that there were two overcoats used in the movie, so it will always have had the rigs inside, even in scenes were it wasn't visable.

So if the new overcoat doesn't have the rigs, I would say it's a lot less movie-accurate.

So I think you're of course right and the Joker will have removed the grenades later on but why should he remove the needled ears inside? That wouldn't make any sense :cuckoo: as it would probably have destroyed the fabric and I'm a 100% sure that the original screen used movie prop Overcoat still has this inside.

What makes you so sure there was only one single coat used in the movie? Usually there are a couple or even a dozen copies of a costume used in movies. It would be nonsensical to have the rig in every copy when it's only used in one scene.

I mean the equipment that is needled inside the overcoat, not the grenades.

This is why I say the DX11 overcoat is less detailed and less movie-accurate than the DX01, even though the figure is way more expensive then the DX01 was.

It's a film - they will have made loads of coats for him; only one of which probably had the rig inside. Using your logic, every Bale sculpt they produce should have black rings around its eyes. It's all movie magic. If you're so bothered about the nex fig not having the rig, then cut it out of the old coat and stick it in the new coat. Done.

But these are one off customs. They person who made them put all his focus and attention into creating ONE. Of course it's going to look superb. Hot Toys make headsculpts for mass production - they won't be able to make every sculpt look as good as a custom one can look - hence why people make customs.

Yeah I know but Maglor said Hot Toys one was better, so I wanted to know what is he seeing that I am not.

Actually I think both Adams and Hot Toys laughing Joker head sculpts are good so just because it is a custom, doesn't make it better.

I'm very very glad this doesn't come with the rig. The jacket doesn't lay as well with all that in there. The rig is great for the grenade pose, but it's literally the only pose where you want it in there. At 1/6 the material for the rig is extremely bulky and makes the jacket all misshapen. I bought a second DX01 jacket just to take out the rig. It's made a huge difference, it's a much more natural look.

I love the grenade pose, and that's why I'm keeping my DX01. Thank you Hot Toys for not making my DX01 totally obsolete. :)

You left out an important part of my post when you quoted it:

I'm really sticking my neck out I know, but I'm officially going on record and saying: In my opinion, the PERS serious sculpt on this figure is the best Heath Ledger as The Joker I have ever seen. Better than the DX01, better than the Bank Robber, better than the Cop Joker, better than the laughing sculpt this comes with, better than BobbyC's, and better than any of Adam's.

Some of Adam's may look a bit more like Heath Ledger, but only just. And that doesn't mean they look more like Heath Ledger as The Joker.

Make sense?

Even if the pics you posted look a little more like Heath Ledger I still think HT captured Heath Ledger as the Joker better.

Okay, you're surely right that there was more than one of these coats made for the Joker but looking at the logic of the movie it would still be ment to look as if it was one coat or do you think the Joker is a shopping queen with ten Coats in his walk-in wardrobe just like Dustin Hoffman in "Hook"? :)

That's not completely right as they started to put the accessories in plastic blisters already. Compare DX01 to DX08:

Wouldn't be surprised if they do so with DX11 and DX12. But concerning the figure itself you're probably right and it will be packed in foam - I hope so.

Since my post is at the end of the last page and you may have missed it, I'll repost:

Yeah that is true I did leave that part out, I know what you mean like you are saying overall compared to Adam's, the Hot Toys one captures Ledger better as the Joker, whereas Adam's captures Ledgers better but does not capture the likeness overall of both the Joker and Ledger.

The Hot Toys one has that common Joker smirk, whereas Adam's are more like Ledger in real life and not capturing the scene in that moment sort of thing right?

Nevertheless, I stand by what I said before, there's something not quite right with the sculpt and so I think it only Looks like Ledger as the Joker on certain angles. Something is just off about it but I still like it!

Well this is all speculation on our part based on what we saw on screen.
Joker is a man who dyes his hair and puts on the same make up every day. He mods his clothing with a grenade rig, puts a retractable knife in his shoe etc. It seems like he takes his time to prepare himself on a daily basis (in contrast to what he tells Dent to manipulate him, he is a man with a pretty thought-out plan). Based on that, I think it's very likely that he removed his rig after he didn't use it anymore, as it can get in the way when moving, having threads and loops hanging from his coat.

:goodpost: How much did you get for this? :wink1:

Why don't they take a thinner fabric?

Okay, that's right.

I think Rzeznikk was just talking about how the figure comes, but you do raise a question, why is that they are using blister packaging instead of foam for accessories? I would much rather prefer foam, I hate that plastic stuff. Which is why I have never bothered to open my Fortress of solitude, not to mention the fact I do not like it, but being in blister packaging does not temp me at all to open it. The blister packaging can get so wrecked so easily.

Okay, that sound's reasonable :wink1: - and even calming for everybody who didn't get the DX01 overcoat. :wink1:

Yes I was referring to the actual figure which all the ones I have have come in a foam casing. (DX01,02,05,06,08,09). I really dont see them changing this trend.

I hate blister packaging as well. Think it's just about saving money but looking at the increased prices that's not fair.

Yeah. Heath completely disappears into the make up a lot in the movie. You couldn't tell it's Heath depending on the lighting, camera angle, makeup and his expression. The HT head captures this pretty well IMO.
