Re: HOT TOYS : MMS DX 12 - The Dark Knight Rises - BATMAN / BRUCE WAYNE Full Specs &
Off the top of my head, in Tdk, when he was talking to crane at the parking lt, Gordon in the bank vault (original suit of courses but still, he wasn't squinting). 2nd suit scenes, talking to Gordon In the apt with officers Harvey and dent, Wayne penthouse scene, epic finale speech scene.
Tdkr, when he faces bane for the first time "bane", anytime he spoke with Selina, last words with Gordon scene....
My point is, yes, his eyes could be a smidge smaller, and I don't see why it couldn't have been sculpted smaller to begin with as HT are clearly capable of implementing smaller eyes with the pers tech, there's just no way every dx sculpt shares the same eye size...which means it must've been a design choice. And I'm willing to bet that all the ref material used pretty much had the whites of bales eyes showing. And there are a lot.
One more point before I wrap it up, one thing that helped 89 bats avoid the eye issues tdkr bats is currently facing are the color of the "whites" of his eyes. You'll notice they are grey. His raccoon eye makeup isnt as dark as tdkr bats.
So therefore, coupled with darker eye makeup, bright whites, "normal" eye size, mouth sculpts that ONLY look better from certain angles (something i find frustrating) and you got a recipe for "you pose him looking this way with that kind of lighting, he gon look derpy".
I'm still getting this, as I find it to be a great representation of tdkr bats in 1/6 form. But quite honestly, I am drawn to the 1/4 version more. The eyes in that one are just perfect. Its not as big as the dx12, and not as squinty as some of you here want it to be. Too much squint will limit pers option. i love pers, it opens up a lot of options for posing the figure and gives it an extra kick. some hate it, but i love it....when done right of course. On the QS...it's just right. I just want them to adjust the mouth plates, that's all. As shown earlier, for this figure to truly shine...it's the damned mouths.
I don't remember him not being squinty in the TDK suit.
It doesn't ruin the figure, its just an irritation considering it was a flaw with the DX02 - frequently complained about - and they didn't address it for one reason or another.
