this is why

Electrical tape degrades into a gluey mess after a year or so. It's not stable?
I would replace it with something else. Love to see the fat ankles though!

Honestly, I like all 3 faces now. When I first opened him I only liked the scowling face. And even that one looks better now.


Also, you know that edge that always catches the light at the top of the face plates? Gone. On all 3 faces.

Yes, kinda. You can get the same deep poses, it just takes a little more coaxing.

Well I've never owned a Hot Toys Batman before... So that doesn't help me lol.

And it's so seemless that I stared at Both Belts for about 30 Minutes Yesterday and had no clue how to open them...

Hopefully it becomes more clear later today when I look again.

Someone should take a picture of the back of the belt with it open. I'm at work so I can't now...

That Mod alone improves the figure 100%, your smart Mag no matter what everyone else say, honestly the mods you did on the DX12 makes it soooooooo much better

I highly recommend the glove and gauntlet mods.

I am interested in Doing the gauntlet mod, but is the piece that is removed from the gauntlets truly glued on the hero suit?

Did you place the electrical tape over the suit and then slide the upper half of the boot over it? Can't stuffing the boot with a thin layer of cotton or something suffice? Then you can work it in to fit evenly or remove it if need be, and it can't be seen since the boot covers it

Cool mods, Mag! I'll definitely be doing the neck mod, and maybe the glove and ankle mod. Not to keen on the gauntlet mod though, since they're engineered accurately (as odd as they look) to the hero suit as is.

Huh. So the shin-guards area of the boots aren't rigid plastic? I asked a while back if stuffing material (like cotton or whatever) would bulk up the ankle area, but was told that they were too stiff to have any effect.

yea they aren't rigid, (dunno who told ya that) but they very soft. the figure however is very sturdy. I had initially thought it was going to be pretty flimsy/fragile

Yeah it's glued. I used Quick Grip instead of super glue though. That way everything still flexes nice instead of getting all crusty.

It's super easy and you could prolly use all kinds of material. The upper boot slips off like a sleeve.

Nine times out of ten I would argue that looking good on the shelf = screen accuracy, but I can see your point on this one. I wonder if they could be bent or shortened (but still connected) to keep them from jutting out so much.

I tried bending them but just like trying to bend the arms of the DX02, they eventually went back into their natural place

I guess you could try gluing them without cutting them, but it's gonna hinder articulation. Iunno, I really think cutting the elbow pads off and doing the glove mod just makes the oversized gauntlets look a lot getter.

Fabric glue is weak and slow to dry. Plus the elbow isn't fabric...


As to a tutorial, is is really needed? Just cut the stuff off.
